They were illegal in the jurisdiction. Learn to smuggle.
How DO you smuggle? Because I get scanned every single time I enter a station. Is there a way to avoid that?
Genuine question.

Landing on an orbital outpost, on the other hand, is a piece of cake since they don't have patrol ships around.
Depends. What ship you have?
Usually, you'll need something agile and fast - I haven't tried a T-9/10, but in a Dolphin, Vulture or Sidewinder it's easy.
Step 1: be fast. Anything above 400 m/s (maybe 300 m/s), and the station's eagles can't keep up with you any more.
Step 2: be cold. The colder your ship is, the harder it is for the cops to get a lock on you. Of course, if they can see you optically (i.e. at less than a few hundred meters), they can lock on - but see 1).
So, when going in, line up with the station's entrance already in supercruise, then keep on the axis and run as fast as possible. Don't forget to ask docking permission on the way. If you get the ship scan alert, drop a heatsink to break the lock. Once you're through the airlock, drop the landing gear, reverse throttle and hope you come to a stop before splattering against the station's rear bulkhead.
For going out, check that the path is clear, then simply boost.
Landing on a planetary outpost is much more difficult, since in the final approch phase, you don't have too many options for boosting or evasions (in a station, you're out of the cop's view when approaching the pad).

Someone here posted a great video on how to evade scans at planetary ports. He put full pips to shields and flew at high speed into (approximately on ! ) the landing pad. That was in an AspX. Might not work in a T-9 or 10.
Make sure not to dance if you go to Germany today: it is Verboten and can be fined €1000.Useless reply

If your destination is a planetary port, these are even easier.
Simply land your ship away from the port, deploy an SRV, dismiss your ship and drive to the port.
Once you reach the port, you can Request Boarding in the same manner as requesting docking.
You can then drive your SRV into a Garage and board your ship, which will have landed automatically for you.
