Some Citizens getting really upset about PENALTY time and overall insurance claim system......

Saw a couple of people on reddit complaning about the very same thing, they were so annoyed they put in for a refund
It's bad enough that the game is really buggy and crashes a lot but they also nerfed trading as well as the profit from trading, so you're on an uphill battle even if things were stable. They really need to disable claims for the time being or make them extremely cheap.

Can you spend RL cash for "in alpha" credits?...

Heavily upvoted on the /r/starcitizen:

The only reason I see CIG still pushing this insurance claims penalty at this point in the game development process(let´s not forget PRE-ALPHA)could be the GREED as they making an pressure on a backers to have more then only 1 ship in their hangar....

I don't believe anyone is getting "constant" high(er) frame rates. I bet it still dips into the single figures quite often unless you're standing on the spot doing nothing, with no one around you. Of course when object container streaming and bind culling bla bla bla bla. But if there's footage that demonstrates the opposite I'm happy to be proven wrong. I might even download it in that case, because 3.0 was truly awful and I'm not touching it again until there are significant improvements.

Yesterday I simply checked the top 3 SC twitch streams when I was on, one after the other, and this is what I found:

19, 17 and 18 FPS respectively

So what about CIG or Chris Roberts ? They got plenty of cash and had plenty of time and cant even deliver one game.

The main argument is that Star Citizen is so much bigger and insanely more ambitious then other games. Its supposed to revolutionize computer games. It was traded as the BDSSE (Best Damn Space Simulator Ever) tho to be fair that has died down since CiG proved that they cannot get the things right which are required for even a basic SS game.

In a nutshell....Star Citizen when completed will be so awesome, so large and so groundbreaking on every level that its worth waiting for. And all the negative news and reports surrounding it are pure lies and hater posts coming from butthurt people who backed the wrong game and are now behaving salty and childish.

So depending on where you get your info from (this thread for example is frequently disturbed by SC defenders claiming its a godlike game already but generally the opinion here is pending into the negative for various reasons) you ll get contradicting views and getting an "ultimate truth" is impossible at the moment. There is currently a lawsuit concerning engine rights which is hoped to bring more light into the abysmal depths of the hole that is Star Citizen development but same as SC itself....that can take some time.

The last info I have about that (granted, thats a couple years old by now, dont know if that changed in the meantime) is that you were able to purchase a certain amount of ingame currency per given period of time. The poster is of course right. Putting such mechanics into an alpha which is supposed to be there for testing purposes is indeed idiotic and being clueless is about the most harmless explanation for it. I guess it has more to do with access limitation, trying to encourage additional ship purchases and alpha monetization.

Well I played few more times since yesterday...and my overall impression is that FPS are higher then before but they are all over the place there are constant dips down to the single digit numbers and then they can go high from 30-50 FPS in my case...anyway seems like flying above the planet surface is better and now more feasible then before....also I tried to log-off in the ship bed but as always I wake up in the Port Olisar,is saving position aKa-persistence still not working or maybe I am doing something wrong?

@Viajero

That contract in screenshot #2 (Myre feed)...is that a backer created mission?

It says Nine Tails, so I presume its a Khajiit NPC.

Think about it, its one franchise CR hasn't ripped off yet. You know its coming!

Also, is it me, or is that guy in the middle screenshot look like he's about to cry? :D

Asking because the top menu has "create contracts" in it so I wonder if CiG already pushed content creation towards its fans...overall it would be a nice feature to have but its too early to implement IMO. SC needs solid and quality content upon release, not rest on the creational shoulders of the people who fund it already.

You cant create contracts. The player created stuff would be under beacons and the only thing you can do is get or give rides somewhere or help someone in combat.

I can understand why people think it is more ambitious.

The problem is that, I don't think it is. It certainly isn't bigger.

What CIG are doing is going for a level of detail...of "fidelity"...that is more suited to a life simulator than an actual game. That would be fine....but there is a degree of detail where it becomes counterproductive. Just as there is a level of realism where games developers don't want to tread.

Real life is boring and if you are designing a game, then fun has to be there somewhere. CIGs cityscape is certainly visually impressive....but it's also empty and devoid of content. By nature, it consumes a lot of resources but ultimately contributes little to the game.

CIG and Chris Roberts confessed to that with their admissions that the demo showed gameplay the game wouldn't have, that the world would be empty and locked away and that players would be effectively confined to a small number of discrete landing zones.

Were it living up to the promises made, an argument could indeed be made that it is worth waiting for.

Unfortunately...we have nothing but a demo that I would expect to have taken less than two years to create, at a cost...not counting graphics...of no more than $10million.

It's been six years, not two, and CIG appear to have somehow spent at least $150 million creating this game. I had hoped that, despite all the signs, the argument that CIG had simply been developing custom tools and that development would speed up massively now that they were finished was true....

But the apparent lack of progress in 3.1, this despite shifting huge sections to 3.2, seems to undermine that hope.

Ah ha! You are referring to the super-fidelitious-pipelines! Ah ha! When the pipelines are created, everything will accelerate past light speed! New ships from nothing to jpeg in one day! Imagine it! :)

Once those graphics-programming-fidelityverse-procedural-egg-and-bean-geneating pipelines are active we will be sooooo close to release!

Croberts, praise be his name, will deliver us the Star Citizen Verse!!!

Just the start. We saw similar with CIG clarifying you won't get to keep stolen ships. The more mechanics become nailed down or have an impact on gameplay, the more dreams will be shattered and reality take over. Personally i can't wait to see full persistence in order to see whether CIG favour the whales and make getting ships and kitting them take a lot of work (aka grind) or make it quick and easy which will annoy the whales.

Response: 13. Pilot error.

Absolute lulzbucketry.

CPhysicalProxy::OnPhysicsPostStep is trying to set position in the grid (childSOC_ObjectContainers\PU\station\hotel\portolisar.socpak) that's different from the grid of the current Zone (DefaultSpaceShips.RSI.RSI_Constellation_Andromeda_147020187937) the Entity is in: <playernameremoved> (manual grid transitions enabled)
