I think I've realised what the problem with ED is.. Braben has lost interest and moved on?

No mate it's just yet another strange doom thread with some oddly personal stuff in it. If you ever wonder why the dev's don't communicate bear in mind this is a daily occurrence.

I'm enjoying this game tremendously. Could it be better? Yeah. However, I've been playing for over TWO THOUSAND hours. NO other game has EVER managed to hook me like that. NONE. And I've been playing computer games for about 30 years...

Get a grip already, he didn't mean to disrespect anyone, we all know what he meant. He doesn't like his insight into the game's mechanics and future development plans hence why he'd like to see more of Braben's talk. I'd also like to see some more of him because I'm not a fan of the current devs talk.

Not to mention, in june, 2017 Brookes announced he would move to a secret project of Frontier. We barely see him talk on the forums or make announcements now.

Point being, op has a point. It's been a while since we've seen some in depth talk from the man himself.

I should get a grip ?, I take it you didn't see the swimming pool & home address thread before it got shut down for galloping happily over the creepy event horizon.

It's no wonder they don't talk to us.

The highlighted comment make me laugh out aloud, honestly, I think I woke the neighbours.

Of course Roberts has his face plastered all over every bit of material for SC, he is still begging for backers, still got his hand out for more and more money and promising the world.

It seems to me from this and other posts the OP really likes ED and is a long term fan so I think people may be being a bit harsh.

Lord Braben is pretty quiet but I suppose that is to be expected. He is CEO of a company that, before ED ,was pretty small scale and has expanded rapidly ever since. The bigger a company gets the less time the person that founded it has time or possibly wants to spend time on the finer details. I’ve never owned a business, but I’m pretty sure if I came up with an idea that turned into a big business (that didn’t have Elon Musk type reasons behind it) that eventually I’d go more hands off and focus on other things (like buying a massive yacht and traveling the world) .

On that basis I My gut feeling though is that Braben is more of a visionary than a ‘Sunseeker 80’ buyer and far from giving up on ED he and his team are working to turn the Cobra engine and Procedural generation into the go to technology.
don’t think what the OP is saying is unreasonable.

You're going to hang me for missing an H and not knowing the capitalisation thing? When I spelled the rest of it from a faded memory of an advertising campaign 30 years ago?

Ultimately I'm not sure who is in charge anymore. The game director and executive producer are missing in action and the lead designer isn't responsible for the game design since we are told its a 'team effort'.

So I'm left wondering whats going on..
