Hi there, fellow space-dwellers.
First a bit of context : I was minding my business, going along my semi-profitable trading route, when yet another wannabe pirate unveiled his intentions regarding my cargo. After a quick glance at my contacts list, it turned out that the pirate in question was a novice flying an Eagle. I thought "Oh, my trusty Type-7 can definitely take that", so I let his interdiction succeed, pulled out my laughable arsenal and prepared to lay some bovine wrath upon him. However, by the time the fight started, two units from the local authorities, with whom I'm in great terms, showed up and lit the poor guy up, whose last moments will sum up to a lot of regret, some begging and a tiny explosion.
All of which leads me to this question : did the local po-po show up because I'm their buddy and that's what they do, or was I just sort of lucky this one time?
Also on a wider spectrum, what exactly does being in good standing with a faction give?
In advance, many thanks.
