Lakon T10 Rear Wing - I can't take it anymore!

It'd be nice if it could reduce systems damage to modules when a shot passes through it, but im pretty sure that'd be an absolute nightmare to code for.

I’m fairly sure it already does, if it’s not a railgun or hitting the two utilities mounted on it.

Also it looks amazing when gold plated. ;)

Everything looks better with a spoiler on it. In fact, there should be a size slider included so you can have a spoiler so large it barely fits through the mailslot. Added bonus of watching people get stuck and blown up due to toaster rack/spoiler tomfoolery.

In light of requests like this, I personally hope they include Chrome rocket nozzle attachments and extenders on future released ships, especially ones that are actually retro models like the Krait.

The Krait could have reaaaallly long nozzle extensions that split into multiple ones. It could also come with a reaaaallly big bored version. Both would make it much louder (inside your cockpit and Stations only though cos space), and add an extra 15m/s speed!
They also double up as a weapon, if someone interdicts you (or not), as you boost infront of them they're knocked off angle by 80° due to the sheer thruster force being directed behind them for x distance. (why isn't this actually a thing?)
As an added bonus, if you boost passed a ship in a station, you'd have a chance to reboot/reset their ship's systems.

We should also have the option to turn any size 3 or above compartment into Sub-bays, which would have twin Subwoofers and an anodized amp taking up the entirety. These would enable a hidden 'Pirate' music Channel within Galnet, where you hear stories of CMDRs interdicting low-level pilots in big ships and obliterating them in the most hilarious ways while not actually having any interest in their cargo, 'cos true Pirates yo.

Also for new Utilities, they should add Chromed and LED edge-lit spinning disks of various sizes and patterns. They'd spin faster the faster you go in NS only and would act as a defensive mechanism.
When your shields are down, they'd have a chance to deflect incoming Laser fire back at the enemy!

Multiple sized landing gear (smaller landing gear would make your 0-60m/s increase but top speed when landing gear extended would decrease. Opposite effect for oversized landing gear, except shock assistance is also decreased so landing haphazardly will damage your ship more), a variety of seating options, interior structural integrity bracing and the ability to smoke external lighting so it's less visible to other ships both in-person and on radar, are but a few other options I think should be included.

I like your ideas (especially the edge-lit spinning disk one) –
as long as you confine it to the T10 –
which I will never buy –
ever.
Don't mess with my Krait though :D
However, subwoofers are mandatory.

Dear Frontier

Your design team produces visual masterpieces and I am thrilled with the quality of the content you bring us. However, and I hope the community will get behind me on this one, the rear spoiler on the Lakon Type 10 is probably not one of them.

Please will Frontier consider making the rear spoiler an optional and included 'ship kit' item, than can be removed to give the T10 a cleaner, more functionable look?

Please keep up all your great work

I second that!

Perhaps Frontier could consider expanding ship design by adding options to remove cosmetic parts as well as adding new ones.

Yes, I've wanted this for years!

I'm used to it now. Though I have caught it on the top edge of the mailslot, I have to aim low to get it through.

I see it as a sign of the cobbled-together design of the T10 (adapted from the T9). I can imagine the following conversation at Lakon:

"Um, guys, it's too heavy now. maybe we gave it too much armour?"

"OK, no problem. Add some more thrusters, then re-run the simulation"

"...Um, new problem. The centre-of-gravity is now all out of whack, too much mass at the back. Try flying this in an atmosphere and air-resistance will flip it like a shuttlecock. You'd be flying butt-first!"

"Dammit. Could we put some sort of stabilising fin on that thing?"

The fact that some love it and some hate it is precisely the reason why it should have been optional in the first place!

Even if you do, it's still purely cosmetic.
I would LOVE to get rid of the wide wings on the Beluga. That wide behind doesn't make any friends with any mailslot. But even if you would buy a ship kit, it'd still be there. You just couldn't see it.

The Beluga's tail wings are truly absurd and horrible extremities.
They even clip the interior of the hangar.
I like the general design of the Beluga but the tail is horrible.
I will never buy a Beluga for that reason.

Since that kit gives the ability for triple decker spoilers, I think this horse has left the barn!

I dunno... there are some pretty kinky mailslots out there.
