Wait so if you switch out of a ship in a station in which the ship has fines attached to it, you can no longer access the ship and must use the transfer function from another station?
But how did you switch out of the fine-attached ship in the first place? Doesn't landing at a station in which your ship has a bounty, cause you to dock in anonymous mode, thus preventing you from switching out of the ship in the first place due to having no shipyard access?
Yes but that doesn't tell you anything when you switch out of the ship that has bounties attached to it. It only tells you when you switch to the ship. Thus it doesn't assist in preventing the problem OP describes.
I think this is a very fair criticism of this issue, at a minimum. I think the C&P issues, in general, could use some work. As a system that I had originally thought was intended to hinder simple 'ganking' it seems to have had a much larger impact on everyone else.
Don't get me wrong, a challenging crime system is good, if it's implemented properly. It's even better when the risk AND reward are enhanced, to which right now, I personally don't see it.
When you add in some of these issues as the OP outlined, and don't provide sufficient info, in-game, as you alluded to, it's bound to cause frustrations.
I'm sure we'll see things tweaked. Even if it does take time, Fdev has addressed issues such as this. Given their feedback forum, I think 3.1 will bring a number of updates to C&P, at least I hope.
