Farcry 5 seems like a good game with a story, however still a bit pricey, and the story seems like one of those you just need to get on with the flow and not think to much about it.
1) All Far Cry stories are the same
2) Uplay

An oldie but still fantastic - The Longest Journey
Old Bioware games like Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic are some of the best.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The game is a piece or art, both in narrative and graphics. Gameplay is pretty basic though.
DOOM![]()
Well, I got DOOM, and it's a great shooter, but the story is thin as air. Just found sleeping dogs on a promotion, so will get that one.
Right now i'm playing watch dogs, if you go for the story and don't do to many side missions, you can keep a good flow in the narrative.
I only play these games for the story, after I play the game it's removed from my PC, and I rarely go back to them. GTA V is one of the few games I get back to now and then, I really don't know why.
So many great suggestions in thread I struggled to come up with something else but did. There is a little known game called Hostile Waters. Epic.
Here is the intro..
I'm playing watchdogs, and you can guarantee that just as you're about to start a mission, some online twerp will start hacking you, and in order to stop them, you end up half way across the city. I usually just sit and waitlist a lemon if I want to start my mission.
You can turn it off, but I do like the occasional online joust. Just not when I'm 2 inches from starting the mission.![]()
I just ignore them, I go for the story and all the side quests I leave for later or never. Just like Farcry 3, I liked the story, but didn't do many side quests.
The combat mechanics in Watchdogs is dog poo, I hate it, but as long as I keep moving forward in the story it's ok.
I mostly do. Unless I'm in the mood.
I quite enjoy the odd side quests, usually because they unlock stuff or earn money.
As for combat in WD. Yeah, it's pretty bad. I like stealth though, so I basically play the game with the silenced pistol all the time, unless the poop hits the fan. Lol
In FC3 I had entirely silenced weapons, and accidentally made the game hilariously easy, even on hardest setting. I'd gotten all the tattoos quite early, and all the rare crafted stuff done too, which helped. Lol
Trying Crysis again, but it doesn't work on my PC anymore. So skipped to Crysis 2, which didn't work properly before, but now runs beautifully. And again, immediately with the stealth killing.
Skyrim. Sneaking.
Why am I so damn stealthy?
Not particularly enjoying WDs story though. I've almost forgotten what's going on. Bit like ED. Lol
FC3 story was good and made you feel like you needed to carry on.
Crysis has an oddly good story for essentially a tech demo. Crysis 2 builds on that by ruining it. Lol
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The game is a piece or art, both in narrative and graphics. Gameplay is pretty basic though.
The worst thing about Ethan Carter is the movement system. I have no idea why they tied your movement to where you are looking. It forces you to move in weird ways, kind of like being on a hovercraft.
The plot was good though. A little po-faced, but good nonetheless.

Two games for you, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with both expansions, and one of the bests games that could possibly blow your mind is What Remains of Edith Finch. Both of these games are 10/10 for me.
In The Witcher 3 you can have a laugh or even cry at some points during the main story line, or in some of the best secondary missions/quests ever made in any game (like the Baron quest for example, but there are a few more hidden gems in the game as I made everything in it, actually completed the last expansion yesterday...306 hours in total played).
In What Remains of Edith Finch it is better to not know anything from this game, just go and buy it blindly and prepare your mind to have one of the best experiences ever in gaming. Pure narrative through "mere exploration"...As an advice, take your time and watch everything around you.
