New Things in Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55

Pleiades Sector GG-Y D33:
LP-389-95 & Flech

Just to note LP 389-95 is an INRA base, too (#6, Velasquez Medical Research Center), the one where they developed the vaccine.

Eagle Eye Week 10 Decodes:

HIP 16440:
Pleiades Sector CB-N b7-0 (Double Barnacle)
Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 (Crashed Thargoid Interceptor)

PLEIADES SECTOR HH-V C2-13:
Pleiades Sector LY-Q b5-2 (Megabarnacle)
LTT 8517 (NHSS Confirmed)

PLEIADES SECTOR IR-W D1-76:
Hyades Sector AQ-Y d81 (Megabarnacle)
Argestes (Old Target)

---

Those are decodes for this week. MSG2 from Pleiades Sector HH-V C2-13 is BROKEN and BUGGED and via bruteforcing we got LTT 8517. Otherwise result is = ICZ IN-S b4-3

---

Update: Targets for this week are: LTT 8517 and Dalfur.

NHSS found LTT 8517, Dalfur - not one pointed to by Eagle Eye. So either it's Thargoid interference with Eagle Eye, or the devs had a heavy lunch :D (Argestes ^^^ was defended last week, though we've seen they type of error before).

Edit: I'm sure Galnet will tell us if it was Thargoid interference ... maybe

Am I to read into this that we've lost no assets at all this week, or is there a chance that the relevant switch has simply yet to be flipped? Also, are these 5 systems still more or less indicative of a path toward Sol? I'd check myself, but I'm not in a position to do so.

I think as well that if we are indeed burdened with 5 targets this week, it's supposed to be sort of a response (not literally from the Thargoids reading Galnet over their morning coffee, of course) to Aegis' recent statements that this isn't a full invasion. Perhaps the Thargoids are reacting directly to our defense efforts by bringing a larger hammer to the job site, so to speak. Perhaps active defense will in time coax out larger, scarier bugs...

Post has been updated. Only 2 targets again. It seems NHSS in old systems were not removed.

As for the war effort, it seems we successfully defended both systems from last week so nothing lost!

To be perfectly honest, I can't decide whether I'm relieved or a bit disappointed on both accounts.

On one hand, it certainly is the best outcome for humanity that the Thargoids have been halted entirely this week. Also, I believe this serves as the first confirmation that all targets can be defended in a given week (please correct me if I'm wrong, as I've been a little disconnected with Thargoid goings on, as of late), which is valuable information.

On the other hand, I've considered damaged stations to resemble forward progress, in the sense that we're approaching the next step in the narrative. This could mean that we wait another week to see what comes next, and as loyal as I am to the defense of humanity, I must admit to a fair bit of curiosity to that end. Having an increased number of targets would also lend itself to narrative progress, and help to justify the existence of so many Eagle Eye installations.

Can confirm Thargoids in Dalfur, Aquila Station is the only starport in that system. Waiting for the AX ships to arrive.

EDIT: Acropolis/Vanguard megaships are in Vanir/Aongi, not issuing missions yet. Pro Tip: place something you rarely or never use (like a manifest scanner) in module storage and just use it as a GPS afterwards :D

Or just look at the flight plan the night before ;)

Yes, but AFAIK that requires actually flying there. It's much easier to leave something behind and check that item's system in Module Storage. I track several megaships this way, including The Gnosis which happens to be really far out sometimes. As the AX megaships don't really disclose their next destination, this is the Elite Noob's preferred way of knowing anyway ;)

We confirmed that NHSS spawns at 5ly radius from targeted systems, so each system within 5ly can have NHSS, Yamahun is example of that it is NOT a target.

This is interesting to me. I assume you're referring specifically to the organically-encountered Marauder signal sources, and not Interceptor signals such as those generated for missions within ~15 LY of Aegis megaships.

5 LY seems like a fairly tight parameter to me (by no means am I implying that you're wrong; it's just interesting), and one that many systems can't even fulfill. Perhaps (and I'm totally spitballing here) this has something to do with the Thargoids' different perception of territory, specifically an expanded concept of what defines a "star-system," or in other words, maybe their analogous construct is simply larger in scope. This could also point toward limitations of their Witchspace traversal systems, though this doesn't mesh well with their ability to pop in within kilometers of a given target and I don't consider it terribly likely.

Awesome! I was a bit pessimist yesterday looking at the numbers, but i guess i was wrong and we got enough kills in Argestes. Great Job!

Was this the first time we succeeded in both systems?

To summarise:

  • EE#1 hip 16440 1e
    • Pleiades Sector CB-N b7-0 TL points to A 1
    • Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 crashed scout (confirmed)
  • EE#2 pleiades sector hh v c2 13 a1c
    • Pleiades Sector LY-Q b5-2 A3 Barnacle forest confirmed
    • LTT 8517 (Hopkins Dock tx found)
  • EE#3 pleiades sector ir w d1 76 b3a
    • Hyades Sector AQ-Y d81 (Barnacle Forest on C2)
    • Argestes (La Cosa tx found)
  • EE#4 hip 16440 1e (Dupe #1)
  • EE#5 pleiades sector hh v c2 13 a1c (Dupe #2)
  • EE#6 pleiades sector ir w d1 76 b3a (Dupe #3)

Aegis ships in Aongi / Vanir - no Eagle Eye point to them

Distress call / NHSS in LTT 8517, Dalfur, Yamahun, Argestes, 63 G. Capricorni

Argestes, 63 G. Capricorni were attacked last week - may be (ahem) a data quality issue (though the EE points to Argestes)
Yamahun has no Ammonia Worlds / no Starport - so assumed not a target

That leaves LTT 8517 and Dalfur to defend - LTT 8517 was identified by Eagle Eye, Dalfur was not (similar to Deneb Algedi - maybe the Argestes EE was supposed to
point here?)

There were NHSS with interceptors, not only scouts.
