General / Off-Topic Finally Motorcycle weather- do you cruise with tunes?

oh Ninja, I like it! the FB100RR is my favorite, and I'm as old as one can get without falling totally apart, but I still need that speed....

Here is the Bible for anyone riding a motorcycle. I bought the book as well. It can save your life understanding motorcycle technology and improve your riding skills. I uploaded the video to my website as it is a must view for every motorcyclist. No worries as I pay my ISP a lot for unlimited downloads.

I have a set of Etymotics ER-6i's. Out of production, but the perfect earbud for motorcycling, for me, anyway. they provide excellent isolation, not far off ear plugs (which I wear regardless), which means I don't have to turn the volume up much beyond 30%... Which means, I can still hear wailing sirens, honks, engine noises and so on. Teh Awesome™

Oh wow - that car park at the start looks like Alice's. Lots of very nice roads around the Bay Area...

Wow, that's quite the extreme switch!
How does your back like the new ride?
Approaching 50, I wanted something comfortable, especially after checking out ducati, & seeing a young fellow at a stop light stretching out the pain in his lower back.
I went to sport tourer after seeing that.

I ride a lot of different bikes (not all mine, of course), but my own ride is a CBR954RR, and I regularly ride a friend's Ducati 1198S and KTM690SMC (that thing is awesome!), ridden a few Ducati Monsters, BMW R1200GS, F650, R1100S, K1200, Kawasaki ZX-10, ZX-9, ZX-6, Ninja 1000, Suzuki GSXR1000, a couple of cruisers...

I honestly find sport bikes more comfortable over a long distance. I can move around a lot, rest my chest on the tank, sit up, sit back on the back seat... Basically, I can get into all sorts of positions to rest, but the typical sport bike tuck is fairly comfy for me.

By contrast, I dearly love the KTM690SMC (in fact, I'm buying one), but I hate it for long trips. You're exposed to the wind, your riding position is fairly fixed, and I find myself getting sore much faster. Same with the Monsters I've ridden, and cruisers too. Cruisers, in particular, I just can't handle for long rides.

The BMW K1200GS, probably, is the most comfy bike I've ridden, but it's not really my style, too darn heavy, though it is an epic machine. Most days though, given the choice, for a 10hr day ride, I'll take a super bike. I'm in my 40's, for the record.

Mine's an st1100, I believe the police in some european countires used to use them.
It's a great bike, and heavy, 650lbs wet, but once rolling, it feels like it's floating.

Our Police used to use the ST1100's here, too. I think they are ST1300's now?

I'll stick with my 99 GSXF750 til it completely falls apart :D

Which may be a week or so - I just checked the brakes and the fork seals - and it's not pretty. Not to mention she wouldn't start without spray and idles like Phyllis from Coronation Street.

I'm not a biker, but I am a concerned driver.
The weather is getting nice and you want to take your wheels out for a ride.
Please please PLEASE don't take chances with your personal safety, and ride safe!

My local region gets a lots of riders because of the fantastic winding roads and scenery. Unfortunately some don't go home.

Wherever you are in the world, keep your eyes and ears open on the roads.

Oh, so much this! ^^^

The squids are starting to make an appearance now Illinois is beginning to bake for the summer. Tragically, I've known a few of them who now exist solely as remembrance stickers on car rear windows.

yes, lets ban motorcycles they are not safe/s..... as you say people need to take responsibility for their actions and also respect other people.
if you want to go fast do it where you only danger yourself, like a deserted road or at the race track.
