Not just Powerplay actions should be restricted to Open!

i fully admit to not doing much PP, however it has been on my "list" of things to do when i get to it, much like other parts of the game... now i cant. this makes me dissapointed.

I love how people make it sound as though they're deathly allergic to clicking the open play button, and it physically isn't an option for them.

Sometimes I've felt that Frontier has made some decisions without research, play testing and consulting the player base, but I have to say these PowerPlay proposals make a lot of sense.

Again, that's having played PowerPlay for nearly two years straight.

You are not missing much. You still have six months or so to try it out anyway, so give it a go. It's pretty awful to be honest. But the changes with the missions being a part of it could really change things and make it a bit more interesting then before.

I totally agree and am excited for potential of these changes much more than I am for Squadrons to be honest.

The main thing which makes PowerPlay interesting now is the dedicated players who play it. If the most dedicated of those players which I've met think the changes are a good thing, I'll be right there with them.

This but unironically

IF FD wanted to make that game (and there is a strong argument for it) then when they had their hat out asking for cash they should have said that there and then.....

given how close - and it was really bloody close - the KSer came to failing perhaps if the competetive online PvPers had put their money in the hat when it really mattered they could have helped shape the game, instead of now championing removing the core features which was why some of us backed in the 1st place.

I am NOT saying backers voices are more important than those who bought recently.... but I am saying it is unfair to ask for changes which remove the features which are a cornerstone of why some of those early players backed in the 1st place.

That assumes that none of the backers werent pvp supporters

not at all...... but FD were very upfront about how the modes were to work... IF that was a show stopper then they (they being the open only players) knew not to back, OR to respect that whilst not perfect, they could live with it. had a 100 page thread of players saying they were prepared to back to significant levels if FD would consider a 1 mode design for the game, perhaps FD would have listened and then fair enough if FD went that way i would have known not to back.... beyond the £20. i think i could have lived with that even if open only.

is it reasonable to kickstart a racing game with the advertising of features like pCARS..... but then 3 years in change it to be like iracing (but without the subs)?

that is what Arcadius and his ilk are asking for.

You may find it cuts both ways... We find it weird that the PvPers can't just play a game without killing/abusing/harrassing (call it whatever, theres too many to list) other players. Just think on the physiological psychology of it all if we all swaped places, open would be like "Hello" "morning!" "nice day for it" "sure is!" ... solo: "where the f is everyone" "kill kill kill" "no one? NO ONE!!!???" *heads smashed off walls* *drools* --- too stereotypical? ;)

I... I can't tell. Try a coherent sentence, then I'll let you know. All I can really parse is that you're one of the people that likes to stereotype people because they enjoy interaction with others that doesn't agree with your vision.

How about disconnecting both PP & BGS from a game called ED. Elite Disconnected.

For all intents and purposes, it's Elite Dangerous but disconnected from this hamster wheel of egg shell tweaks and changes.

Instead, we can mod the crap out of it, make our own ships, mod old ships, tweak game rules as we see fit and make it the game the community wants to make it. The groups of players that reside in the original ED will be able to vote on, and have official content implemented as usual, so won't be affected.

Job done. Everyone happy.

No thanks. Wouldn't make me happy.

I always play in open and I barely see another player. Making BGS work open-only wouldn't achieve anything because it's a piece of to avoid other players anyway. It would just be annoying because it would break mode flipping (which is a daft semi exploit anyway, I guess), and you'd marginally increase the chance of getting griefed by a random whilst delivering space groceries.

Go find a single thread where I "asked" for this before it was announced. I'm just accepting the decisions of this team. Also that analogy just fell flat on its face. This isn't pCars. Epic strawman...

Elite Dangerous is the only community where Common Sense suggestions like this are shunned. Everythingand anything significant that affects you as a player performed by another player should be performed online where the other player can be apposed. This is Online Gaming 101. Imagine some other game a player goes and Raids your Home or something and he's invisible and invincible cause he's offline. Its pityful.

Yes!

Now louder for the people in the back

You asked for ALL features to be removed from solo apart from just flying your ship...... despite Sandros specifically saying not going to happen. which is not passively accepting decisions from the team what so ever.... so erm where is the strawman in my post, or are you really trying to say with straight face it does not count if it is replying to a sarcastic post but saying I agree but without the sarcasm???

you not agreeing with an analogy is not me making a strawman, and from what i can tell stripping ALL features from solo and making it online MP only is exactly what you said you wanted so you saying you are only supporting what the devs are suggesting is a flat out pork pie.

Given that there are players on XBOX and PS4, players in different time zones, and limits to the concurrent numbers in any instance, then I'm afraid this horse has been long dead. Sorry.
