Modes Why do you want me in Open?

If you don't want to be in Open, I don't want you to be in Open!
Simple as that!
I see a fair few whiny posts because players made a poor choice of modes. Pick one that suits your playstyle and just get on with it. No-one with anything worthwhile to do is going to "miss" you.

Within the context of the recent announcement, people generally only want you in open if you're partaking in powerplay activities, such as undermining their systems, fortifying systems they're trying to undermine, or preparing expansions into systems they'd rather not have your power in.
If those activities function in solo/pg, then powerplay boils down to a pointless grind-race against invisible enemies.

I don't - but it seems like others care an awful lot about my gaming 'experience'.
Gaming is what I do when I'm not being especially social. I've got real life for that.

I'm usually in Mobius, but one of the other ones - shame about the split.

As long as it's relegated to a player limit with no controls as to PvE/PvP preference, that is. Gotcha.
I'm all good with the Open PP move - makes sense to me.
Thats how I see it. Never got the whole agrument peole give about how we should all be holding hands and singing come by ar my lord, around the burning Annaconda. Or ED is a mulit player game blah de blah, even if open was the only mode Id still be out on the edge of the bubble away from evey other . out there.
As an open player I completely respect your desire to play in solo or pg. I would not support totally going open only for the game. However, I do think some areas should be open only, like power play because it was designed as a PvP thing abd we should not have to fight against ghosts. I also believe when two players are effecting the BGS at the same time, the open players effort should get a slight multiplier.
But I thought there was 50,000 members?

I believe most are inactive. Möbius is very sparsely populated at CGs and other spots when compared to open. They might should clean house.
Spread across 3 separate PGs because of 'limitations'.

I doubt, however, there's as much population, even on a CG day.

Yes, it would make all the difference in the world. I'd actually take an interest again and so would thousands of others.
I have no idea. You don't see "OPEN PLAY: OVER xx,xxx COMMANDERS" touted around anywhere.

So combat's not especially my thing - I'll do it when it comes but I don't get my kicks at CZs or Res Sites.
I'll maybe have a brief dedicated combat session once in a while but I'll soon move on again.
Currently at 22% Master.
My builds are definitely not combat optimized, so I'll offer little counter-threat to anyone who interdicts me.
However, I'm also not an OCD min-maxer trying to eke out every Cr/hr, so I rarely fly unshielded (my Mining FDS is the exception).
I've also been around long enough so I know how to get away.
Your chances of actually blowing me up are slim.
What exactly are you missing out on by not having me in your instance?
