How to Unlock Guardian Stuff Now?

Face it, not everyone's as upset about the video game as you are.

Search the forum for threads about guardian weps in Feb, this "surprise" information only came as a shock to the people so busy moaning they missed it till now.

Thanks for proving my point.

It was all over the forum, I knew about it in February.

That was February a long time ago and the thread is at the bottom of the pile, the Cmdr may have not gone back that far in the forum listings, or did not know how to look for the info or may have not been on since Feb. Hence they were just voicing their dismay and asked for the info.

Must admit even I didn't know till recently as I wasn't looking for the info until recently and did not realise there was a thread about it already. Just goes to show we learn more on a daily basis.

Hey guys, what’s going on in this thread?

I just entered, thinking of nothing bad ... and was hit by a flying word at my head.

Now I am bleeding and I am confused and just want to know ... WHY?

I found the Guardian distributor to be a waste of time, you lose far too much recharge capacity compared to engineering a standard version.

Because the guardian version is for people that is not interested in engineers and its purpose is to avoid visiting an engineer (so people doing it does not lose far too -nothing-)

So, as this thread seems to be safe again ... I have a different (but somehow related) question I wanted to ask for quite a while:

All the other AX weapons are very effective against Thargoids but somehow toothless against human vessels.
Is this different for the Guardian stuff? Are they indeed the versatile weapons I imagine/hope they are?
Or are they just (probaby fun-to-use) alternatives to human AX weapons that can be used for one purpose only?

The answer to this will definitely influence my urge to unlock the blueprints ...

Yes and no, or it depends.

Plasma chargers are devastating against NPC's but at dangerous and beyond not so much, you still have to grind the shields down. Gauss cannons are the same.

There is one exception which is the shock cannons, not really very good against shields anyway but they have stacking damage where the more you hit the higher the damage gets and they fire as fast as you pull the trigger. So once the shields are down you can close in and stonk targets with horrific amounts of hull damage, they are my current wing assassination hull killers in an FDL with a couple of beams to take out the shields. The gimbaled ones get more drift the faster you fire so they are good at accurate plinking as long range snipers and short range rapid fire.

Elite engineered NPC corvette's in three or four high speed passes (once the shields are gone).

Ammo's not terribly plentiful, but you've more than enough to solo a wing assassination plus escorts and interceptors. You also don't need to leave the bubble to unlock them.

Noob question:
Do I need any thargoid stuff to unlock guardian stuff?

When I did the mission for Palin to bring unknown probe/artifact, I almost lost my ship due to corrosive damage.
So I want to know if I need to unlock Palin first for the resistant cargo racks.

You only need the Thargoid stuff to complete Ram Tah's new mission. You can unlock the Guardian stuff without doing the mission at all. You just need a ship(small is best) and a SRV and you are good to go.

OK guys, enuff rhetoric,
Are the Guardian missions good to go or not?
Actually,
I think it's a good idea to be prepared for what will be added over the rest of the year's updates.
Ships, possibly more aggressive alien intrusions, new starports and surface features,
With the addition of anomalies and other interesting unknowns,
ya never know,,,,
whatcha think?

The second guardian mission is rather good. Especially if done with firends.

OTOH, it does not give you access to more than one, maybe two guardian modules due to their ridiculous requirements. Though 3.2 should fix that (?).

Yes, it has been confirmed that the requirements will be reduced considerably in a couple of days in the next update.
