How to Unlock Guardian Stuff Now?

The OP repped that post as he found it to be helpful, have you considered not reading positive things in case they offend your sense of misplaced and impotent outrage.

Now that you mentioned it Ill probably replace the dual Cannons on my Assination Cutter with large Shock Cannons when the update arrives.

quick reminder.. the flechette and shock cannon are NOT guardian weapons, if people is waiting for the reduction to get them you might get a surprise.

Anything unlocked via a tech broker is fair game since it's all hybrid tech.

This whining about ONE thing in the game being multi crew only is pathetic.
I can understand ppl being upset about it after realising it after a grind unlocking it but that is just a unfortunate omission of clear info.
But getting riled up about it being what it is and calling it unfair is so amazingly small, petty and childish.
You make me ashamed to be a solo player.

Oh and a edit: Came into thread because I also wondered how to get started. Many replies before op's question was heeded.

I like positive things.

Also, I found the gaurdian weapons to be quite decent against human ships. Not as good as fully engineered and/or weapons literally designed to destroy human ships! (Like the shock cannon) But that's to be expected, they are still great though.

Weapons themselves are excellent.

If FDev really are going to reduce the Guardian grind soon, they have two ways of doing so: reduce the requirements, or increase the drop-rate of the materials. As we don't know which will happen, I'd suggest caution.

If the drop rate is about to go up, now would not be a good time to do a Guardian mission.

Increasing drop rate probably makes "the most sense" to FD, because they (rightly) want people to engage with the (cool) new mini game they made at the new ruins.

For players who have already done it a bunch of times, it'll probably bug them a bit.

But we don't know if the amount of blueprints that drop are going to be increased. So it doesn't hurt to grind some blueprints. At the most, it just means the time you spent grinding those blueprints for the patch wasn't the most efficient way of doing things but you'll still have some blueprints available to unlock the new things immediately.

The specifically said in the latest live-stream that they would significantly reduce the requirements.

Ah, but requirements could mean the number of times you are required to complete the puzzle, to get the materials needed, not necessarily the number of materials required.

I think you're right though.

Here are the new guardian modules and weapons material requirements I saw in the "Krait Expectations" livestream for the guardian items tech broker as they went over it.

Generally, the weapon and module blueprints were drastically reduced which is very nice. Some of the other materials requirements were generally halved or particularly adjusted. Still a number of roving trips required for the obelisk data for some modules. But overall, great adjustments to lessen the blueprint scavenging. See, FDevs do listen and made good on their earlier stream comment to look into it! [up] o7

One can still do it in SOLO, just hire one crew member. If not assigned to a SLF, they automatically assume the position of gunner.

If you’re looking to do the low-paying mission, yes, you need corrosive Thargoid parts to complete this. These are done at Guardian Sites.

The older, higher-paying mission only requires the artifacts found at the ruins to complete.
