Fallout 76 Announced - Are you in?

Sooo still no excitement for the new entry in the franchise I see :). Im still not sure what to think about mp only Fallout, at least they confirmed private servers, story and possible later mod support. So l still keep my eye on this project despite my sp only bias.

Hotel California confirmed.

A multiplayer Fallout is like taking a real Fallout, then strip it of everything that makes it great and add multiplayer.

And seriously, a PVP base building game? Who is going to go to the trouble of meticulously build an awesome settlement (I have settlements on my heavily modded F4 which took entire weekends to build each, and I sure wish I could actually live on them) knowing that it will be destroyed - guaranteed - at a moments notice by some random dude just because? Might as well not build jack poo.

Aslo, a Bethesda game without mods, which means its lifespan will be very short, unlike Skyrim and previous Fallouts which can be played for many years and still feel fresh. I still play Skyrim and F4 quite frequently, but if I could only play the "vanilla" versions I would have abandoned them years ago.

At least there's Elder Scrolls 6 to look forward to from Bethesda (and Starfield, whatever is it).

Loved the moment on E3 when Todd Howard announced F76 to be multiplayer and most of the crowd had absolutely no reaction at all. :D

I don't have much interest in what Todd appears to be offering but I am going to wait to see what happens after the public Beta. I have it rated as gankers paradise currrently :)

Fallout 76...

Same engine, same assets - but I'm still going to get it and play the heck out of it.

Sandbox with mini-story arcs just works for me.

I love the fallout games. I hate online MMO, multiplayer, pvp. So if the rumours are true then I am definitely not in.
If the game has a comprehensive solo campaign I will most likely buy it, if it is any good.

Yeah, no NPC characters, we will discover story through audiologs and messages. No idea how purchaseing gear will work as there will be no npc vendors. Terminals? Or Creation Club lol.

1) No, that is just your distaste for multiplayer games.
2) Tons of people.
3) TES Online is doing great.

You're making the mistake that you=everyone, whereas it turns out your preferences are only shared by a distinct minority. I'm very much looking forward to TES6, but your comments were pretty... iffy.

Oh the irony :D

You're also making the Nostradamus mistake, so extremely common: you = majority, different opinion = minority. At least I didn't even speak of minorities and majorities...

Just look at Bethesda's most successful games, and the reasons why people love them. If you think people who play those game are a distinct minority, who am I to argue.

It maybe that they will swap their current PVE customer base for a PvP one instead. We will have to wait till sometime after release to see what eventuates.

I don't think they want to swap, it would be a shot in the foot due to their past huge successes, they just want to provide options for both.

Doesn't mean everyone has to like it :D

I don't think Fallout 76 will do anything for people expecting traditional Bethesda open world gameplay. I think they just wanna rip off SP players and sell them essentially a MP game where they'll find out that the content they expect is sparse, but emergent instead.
Imo, it's shady marketing. They better come clean and sell the game what it really is.
