Engineers MEF : As much as you want !!!

I don't want to drive around crappy posts for MEFs. I WANT TO PLAY MY WAY, THE WAY ADVERTISED. So, FD put some obtainable mef's in all other occupations, not just passenger missions 20,000 lys in space either, are you really so dumb that you cannot fig this out for yourselves or is it the bosses EGO that ruins the game...right now I think you lot are really thick, if you want us all to stop playing, man up and just SAY SO...Numpties!

7 weeks playtime, I cannot complain I really have not got my monies worth, I have already stated that no more money for your organisation until we get some gameplay. Thargoids are another useless grind for more Mats that we will have to chase all over the universe for, that AGAIN, you will hide behind some stupid unrelated mission crap, GROW UP, fix your GAME or ***k off and sell the game to someone who knows how to design one..y'all dumb as a bag of spanners.

Cmdr shane sparling KMA!

Respectfully I couldn't disagree with you more. This game is an open sandbox. You don't have to do anything. You can pursue multiple roles and goals. it's all up to you.

This has been around for some time, so until it gets patched fill your boots. The following gives MEF and other data :

Go to PG or SOLO(Doable in OPEN too)
Go to a settlement(list below)
Scan all the Data Points
Get reward :)
Log
Rinse, Repeat

Previously there was a 2 week cool down, which has disappeared in to the bug hell hole, for now ;)
Instead of about 10-15 mins per settlement, you can do this in 3.

But : Recently, can't remember which patch, I think for the skimmer exploit they restricted how close a ship can land to a settlement. It affects certain types.
Also certain types of settlement are easier.

My suggestion, allowing ship to park up close by,and quick scanning, are the M2M settlements.
Here are lists of a few that give Modified Embedded Firmware:
Lung 3 (Lockhart Prospect)
Tatapai 3 ( Whitney's Claim)
Nu Indi A2 (Bulleid's Folly)
Nu Indi A2 (Plucker Vision)

My fave(High G 3.3) : Pemoeri 4 ( Ramelli Landing)

:)

p.s. As you're not docking or boarding ship, keep an eye on your SRV's Hull & Fuel !

Pemoeri 4 ( Ramelli Landing) and Lung 3 (Lockhart Prospect) both have trespass zones. Aren't they supposed to have none ?

Perhaps I misunderstood.

Btw, what does M2M mean?

Thanks

Thanks CMDR MottiKhan I appreciate it. I know my way around the galaxy but at settlements I am lost.

And thanks CMDR dognosh.

+rep to both of you.

Fly/land safe.

Besides the spreadsheets with settlements, there exist also a few installations without any +++-signs that are VERY small and need only ONE datapoint to be scanned. Some of them also drop MEF.

Personally i think, the 2 week timer was stealth removed because the guardian settlements use the same mechanic. That only 1 mat has dropped until fix was related to the same problem.
I fear, when the 2 weeks timer now returns after this reveal, it firstly will accidentally hit the guardian settlements too [haha] [haha] [haha]

This is a really good thread but personally I prefer flipping the board for 5 x MEF kill terrorist wing missions.

I've tried both. Started with the base scanning with the info from this thread and then turned to terrorist wing missions.

Although the terrorist wing missions are fun (I've maxed out all the Grade 5's offered there) this base scanning is much faster. What, 2-3 minutes per 3 MEF's? Damn quick.

Agreed, I went back to base scanning. I think that the kill terrorist missions could be theoretically quicker if only you could stack enough of them in the same system at once before undocking ... but in practice 5 x MEF reward just doesn't come up often enough for that.

Nuenets B3 "Lee Terminal" also has this layout for those CMDR's looking for something really close to Shinrarta Dezhra.

I checked this out last night to brush up on this mini-game. It was just as you said. Nice to have it 1 jump from Shinrarta.

[up] Two jumps from my home base and I picked up 50 MEF and 50 CEF in about 30 minutes. Thanks for this.

In case nobody else mentioned it, you do not have to go through the data-points 1-2-3, 1-2-3. You can go through them 1-2-3, relog at the third data-point and then go back through them 3-2-1, 1-2-3, 3-2-1, etc. . . . saves time. o7

This (currently) absolutely works. I was able to max out my MEF (100) and got well over 100 CIF (limit is 200) in just a few hours with almost absolutely no risk (your parked ship can be blown up by gankers in OPEN if you do not "dismiss" it).

A couple of notes:
You can park very close to the settlement, well within the defense towers outside the settlement. I parked right next to the lighting pole near the center of the circuit.
You can go in both directions. Scan the data-points 1,2,3, relog and then do them 3,2,1, relog and etc.
Ignore the skimmers.
You might want to "dismiss" your ship for the reason mentioned above.
At the "three silos" end of the circuit, there are two data-points placed very close together and both are invisible behind the wall so if you target one and get no scan, target the other. The one you want is usually the one that is "rising".

Can someone confirm if this still works? Since the upgrade I get all kinds of data but no MEF. Maybe I was just unlucky..
