Yes, even in the US, fists and feet kill more people than the much maligned "assault rifles" do, it's around twice as many as "all" rifles in any given year.

Also, gun violence is very localized and certain populations are highly over-represented.
Most of it is gang/drug related.

My favorite is the "I need a gun to ward off dangerous wildlife" excuse.

USians DO kill over a 1 million deer every year, and many other forms of game, often with the aforementioned "assault" style rifles.
Not sure that falls under "warding off".

But for the record, we don't need an excuse.
