Please fix the Corvette Razor pack!

I purchased the Corvette Razor pack, which looks nice from a distance and on the store picks, but a closer look reveals a horrible quality, especially the chrome-like details that are painted on there, please see yourself (I highlighted some of the "problems" in red, but its quite self-explanatory):

Just one example:

Do you see that all straight edges are not straight, but strangely wavy? Asymmetric shapes? It looks like this all over the ship.

FDev should be ashamed of these, so are there any plans to fix them?

Same deal with most paintjobs tbh. My Anaconda Fusion paintjob is made of similar straight lines and it looks like the colouring book of a three-year-old toddler in places.

I havent seen a paintjob where they put the proper amount of effort into, same goes with shipkits. Altho shipkits are worse..

For instance, shipkits dont look like part of the ship, they dont get applied to the ingame hologram and paintjobs can make them even look worse.

Yeah, those uneven lines look VERY bad and unfortunately they are the case on many paintjobs. I came to a conclusion that it's on purpose long time ago.

Shame really, because it looks like a sloppy job. Not sure how can you come to a conclusion it's a good idea to approve this...

Yes, incredibly shoddy work, especially for a PAID paint job.

Christ, that looks terrible. It’s too obvious not to be a deliberate design decision, surely. It looks like it was knocked it up in 5 minutes using MS Paint. :D

Similarly, I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the Black Friday/Midnight Black paint-jobs. They look great under most lighting conditions, but under certain direct light they look really ropey. Must be some kind of rendering issue. I bought it for 4 or 5 ships, and they all have these aberrations with paintwork at 100%. Not great for a supposedly “premium” paid paint job.

Gonna have to check my black paintjobs now.:S

Edit: Corvette looks OK. Phew.

Hm strange, I have never seen that on a black friday paintjob. I see youre on xbox, maybe its specific to that platform?

Ah, that reminds me of the old times of 16-bit colours. But seriously, what's going on in that screenshot? Contrast/Saturation pumped up to 11? Xbox connected via analog antenna cable? Photo made with a polaroid?

Yeah – as I said, it’s not easy to spot under most lighting conditions (just visible, but you need to look very closely), but under certain conditions it’s quite obvious. I first noticed it when I looked out of my ASP in VR while the lights were on – saw these blocky shapes. The lighting on certain planetary bases seem highlight it as well, although it’s not obvious in stations. I've increased the contrast in that image somewhat to highlight the issue.

It looks to me like it’s related to how the paint job degrades with wear-and-tear, but it’s present at 100%. I suppose it’s possible that it’s a rendering issue specific to my drivers/machine, but other paint jobs and everything else in the game looks fine, so I doubt it.

Normally I wouldn't worry about something so petty, but since we're paying for this stuff...

Looks like a case of colour banding, I've heard VR sets like Oculus Rift are quite prone to it. Is there an option to increase the bit depth of the colour channels?

I don't buy cosmetic items in games.
But if i did, there wouldn't pass 5 minutes between noticing the awful quality and me requesting a refund.
If a significant number of players contact support and ask for their money back, then that's the best shot you have that more effort might be put into creating these items.
Especially if this is indeed a common thing with ED's cosmetic items, and not just a one-off.

[haha] Yeah – I sent this image to support so I increased the contrast to highlight the issue. I play in VR so the actual window-size/resolution on my desktop is low.

I'm playing on an Oculus Rift on a PC (GTX 1060). It's more obvious in the Rift headset, but also present on the monitor upon close inspection. As I said - it's not obvious most of the time, and seems to emerge under certain direct lights, so a quick glance isn't necessarily going to confirm it.

6th generation photocopy?:D

:D See above.
