    • Large Dumbfire Missiles
    • Large Seeking Missiles
    • Large Torpedo Launcher
    • Large Multicannon Turret
    • Small Shock Cannon T/G/F
    • Small Plasma Launcher T/F
    • Small Shard Cannon T/F
    • Small Gauss Cannon T/F
  • Planetary Wing Missions.
  • More narrative
  • Engineers arrive in Colonia
  • New Crusader Ship
  • New Guardian space-based locations, technology
  • New 3.2 Trailer
  • New Guardian-tech SLFs:
    • Trident with Plasma Repeaters
    • Javelin with Shard Cannon
    • Lance with Gauss Cannon

Thanks. That looks interesting especially the Planetary Wing Missions and Guardian stuff. This game needs more space ship combat near the planet surface. Is the Krait Phantom in this major update?

As for exploration: the Guardian space based locations is new stuff to explore.

There was a other secret trailer after the movie ends. You can hear they say please turn your phone's off because we have something special to show you.

What did they show? :p

We may never know what was discussed after the audience was told to put their phones away, but by GOD we will speculate the out of it

Well new stuff acquired by old means. OK.
Something else to do in my DBX and hopefully a puzzle I can solve without the aid of the forums or YouTube. Nice!
New ship(s) always good!
Small guardian weapons: FINALLY!

Looking forward to trying these out on my DBE and Viper IV.
The extra challenge of taking down a Cyclops in a small ship.

Large missile and torp launchers: will have to see how they play out.

So stuff to look forward to, stuff to hope for.

In short a shot in the arm to reinvigorate my time spent in ED.

I'm also curious about the new engineers in Colonia. Will they mirror existing upgrades that are available in the Bubble, or will they offer entirely new upgrades that could be worth travelling from Sol to Colonia for?

Well being fair Q4 will bring means, in theory, to search and discover stuff in ways other than eyeballing entire planet surfaces or exploiting graphics settings.

Yup. And when they release CH4 and if the exploration system works well and if it retroactively applies to all those dead end, unfindable, YouTube-only POIs then I will retroactively declare the Q3 (and previous) additions to the game to have all been worthwhile and wonderful, and I will have an absolute blast seeking out and exploring the game's weird backstory in a spoiler-free, in-game, "personal narrative" kind of way.

But only if and when they do that. Not before. I'm not gonna say something bad is good just because maybe they're gonna fix it later. It'll be good when it's good.

Even a small update can iterate on the game's mechanics. Instead, it appears FDev are only interested in pumping out more of the same stuff we already have.

I'm going to sound all white knighty I know but it's a development process isn't it and you do, add major mechanics then flesh them out. And it's not a major update. There's some iteration in mechanics, wing surface but the settlements and guardians especially are at least more different stuff, similar to .. but we don't really already have. Because it's new.

It's interesting as across the years FD went above and beyond to vastly expand the number of hardpoint gear, providing them in all shapes, sizes, variants, rebalances, tweaks, special effects, bazillion engineer recipes, alien versions, anti-alien version, colors, flavors and smells. All except one. Guess which?

The Mining Laser. Yep, totally left forgotten sinze launch, no additional sizes, no engineer recipes, nothing, zilch, nada. Not used for combat, so goes to the back of the bus.

Would it be too much to ask at least having a large sized mining laser, or perhaps even a couple of engineer blueprints, like increased distance, or lower distributor drain. Well, something?

I think it would - be too much to ask. What I've seen of Beyond Q4 Mining involves cracking asteroids, in half.

I didn't guess right btw.

I want to know where my Large and Huge Rail Guns are at?

One very big thing that strikes me about this leaked video is that FD do keep their promises, whereas the 'other space game' is incapable of keeping one, even a week or two ahead it seems !

We have a game, and it's still moving forwards, whereas the poor souls backing the other game are seeing magnificent reveals but no game to play of any merit.

I haven't engaged much with the Guardians yet, and even less with the Thargoids, but I do own the handy shield booster and FSD boost modules. It looks like the Guardian content is going to put a lot more flesh on that side of things, giving some meaning behind collecting materials from the Guardian sites and linking it with space ships. This increase in depth is welcome in my eyes.

The wings improvement for planetary missions is a brave step that fleshes out the use of the SRV and SRV assaults on bases, I should imagine, which is good if it works well. I just hope we get some segregation of wing missions from ordinary missions on the boards, because they are cluttered enough with missions that I just don't want to do, being a sole player (as opposed to a solo player).

But this Q3 is a welcome addition. It's free, what's not to like? Not enough gameplay improvements .... maybe, and it puts a lot more pressure on Q4 being a blockbuster.

And why is that an impediment to add another size, maybe even a couple of engineer recipes to the mining laser as well, maybe perhaps in between the time they took to do that and much more for all the bazillion other hardpoint mounts?

I don't think it's quite as simple as that; Mine laser especially. You'd expect different fragment yields wouldn't you? (Different code area from shields and hulls). Q4 anyway.

Not necessarily different yields, but larger lasers could make the fragments drop faster, at the cost of more power / distributor drain. Even some potential recipes, like larger distance, or lower dist drain, it's not anything that wasn't already done tons of times for other weapons.

Yay, finally all the small Core Game and QOL Updates that couldn't make it into V3.1.

*oh wait*

Anyway, as expected. 1 more Store item carrier aka Ship (reskinned Chieftain, now with SLF), more Weapons and more PewPew focus. Space Invaders 3D(tm). Same old.
Exactly what we've been missing all the time. I truly wonder how we made it this far without another Combat Ship and 10+ more Weapons.
More stuff to grind for, more stuff to Engineer. Same old.

All brought to you by "100 members of the team" who were tirelessly working on ELITE.

So... another V3 Beyond promise broken, another 3 months wasted & down the drain with nothing really moving forward. Just the same old, again and again - and most importantly pretty much as expected by now *yawn*
