News Beyond - Chapter Three Launch Announcement

:O

How will I get them (ok, I suppose I'll finally have to get one or a few of those weapon blueprints...)?
Can I mount two of them on my Sidey and fire them synchronously without melting to slag?
Does anyone want to buy a few slightly used Enforcer cannon?

Most likely you'll need to unlock them from a Guardian tech broker. Firing two of them at the same time? If you can do that with regular railguns without your Sidewinder melting, you'll probably be all right.

Lifetime Expansion Pack - to be withdrawn from sale

Alpha and Premium Beta came with a whole lot more than early access to the game - the Lifetime Expansion pack that is included is a significant benefit of being an early backer of Elite: Dangerous.

We have regularly said that depending on the level of success of Elite: Dangerous we intend to continue expanding it with new content and new features.

We plan to follow that same incremental development philosophy that we’ve done throughout our Alpha and Beta phases, and continue to significantly enhance the game via further expansions post-launch.

We do intend to release small, free updates after launch, but expansions that include significant new features and content will be charged for separately. For example, our current roadmap is to add (in no particular order):
  • Landing/ driving / prospecting on airless rocky planets, moons & asteroids
  • Walking around interiors and combative boarding of other ships
  • Combat and other interactions with other players and AIs in the internal areas of star ports
  • Accessing richly detailed planetary surfaces
  • Availability of giant ‘executive control’ ships to players

Didn't know about the executive control ships. So that's something to look forward to. Eventually.

So FD, since you seem to be going all in on ship variants, Cobra Mk 5... when? And can you scale it up a bit so we can fit a SLF bay? Super!

Well, besides you being the sort of customer Nobody wants, did they give you a timeframe to these features?

When I'm putting the second coat of emulsion on the walls I don't expect a customer to call me a robber for not having done the glossing yet, things take time and need to be done in the right order.

if I were Braben I'd give you your money back and tell you to go F... yer head.

Considering access to the forums is open to everyone, with or without game, I dont even see the point. Just let him be frustrated and bitter for as many years as needed. :p

Just goes to show, you can't trust them.

Pew-pew, endless wing missions, interminable grind mechanics and sod all else.

Is this what Sandro meant by 'fleshing out' the existing game play?

Can someone tell me why the new ship has a spoiler when we don't have any atmospheres in which to fly?

Seems rather pointless to me, that's all.
