News Beyond - Chapter Three Launch Announcement

The current team has been working on mining and exploration for the big update they told you about a year ago, and gave a presentation about just two months or so ago. You know this, everyone who reads this knows this, so why not put a little bit more effort in your whining?

That's the minimum. They do not do more than the obligation. They owe a lot.

And that does not change the fact that until now they only knew how to play with pew pew.

Cool stuff!

Wing Missions

Commanders will have the opportunity to take on planetary Wing Missions, further increasing the mission types you can take on with your friends.

Can we get more info about this? Will we finally have dog fighting above the planet surface and in canyons?

That is not the minimum, heck they don't owe you anything. Are you aiming to become the dictionary definition of entitled or something? Anyway, looking forward to another five years where you'll proclaim [insert game that may be released within a year] will 'kill ED' while feeling FD somehow owe you more free stuff. [haha]

I suspect this is base scanning and such, but with tighter timers demanding teamwork and higher rewards. Maybe with air defense so wingmates need to clear the air while others clear the ground.

Welp, not much there for non combat players. I would have liked to see some small things other than combat ships and weapons, and no grinding for more engineers doesn't count, unless they have some nice new non combat blueprints (which I doubt they do). Maybe these Guardian bases will have some non combat content, that would be very nice. Probably not though.

Ah well, at least it gets us one step closer to 3.3 and some actual improvements for aspects other than shooting at stuff. Back to waiting I suppose.

Well that would be interesting. Also bombing runs above bases.

I forgot that you have difficulty understanding and like to talk about what you do not know.

And they owed me I paid for the lifetime expansion and I did not get the content for it.[yesnod]

...
Small Guardian Gauss Cannon (fixed)

:O

How will I get them (ok, I suppose I'll finally have to get one or a few of those weapon blueprints...)?
Can I mount two of them on my Sidey and fire them synchronously without melting to slag?
Does anyone want to buy a few slightly used Enforcer cannon?

It's always more of the same. Lack of creativity or competence.

We only have now the hope of waiting for the X4..Oops, I say Q4

You got all the content there is for free, which is the only obligation they have towards you. You are confusing what you want with what people owe you.

I suspect the new toys tie-in with the new guardian places, but just a guess of course.

Why put a restriction on Colonia engineering that you have to have done engineering in the bubble with these 5 specific engineers first? A lot of explorers may not have ever dealt with Blaster, or even Liz: Blaster purely does weapons.

I don’t get this decision at all - please explain the logic behind it.

I agree this is a very odd decision. As is the decision that you need to unlock all 5 engineers just to access one, unlike the existing engineers where you gain access by unlocking other engineers one at a time.

Lifetime Expansion Pack - to be withdrawn from sale

Alpha and Premium Beta came with a whole lot more than early access to the game - the Lifetime Expansion pack that is included is a significant benefit of being an early backer of Elite: Dangerous.

We have regularly said that depending on the level of success of Elite: Dangerous we intend to continue expanding it with new content and new features.

We plan to follow that same incremental development philosophy that we’ve done throughout our Alpha and Beta phases, and continue to significantly enhance the game via further expansions post-launch.

We do intend to release small, free updates after launch, but expansions that include significant new features and content will be charged for separately. For example, our current roadmap is to add (in no particular order):
  • Landing/ driving / prospecting on airless rocky planets, moons & asteroids
  • Walking around interiors and combative boarding of other ships (they owe me)
  • Combat and other interactions with other players and AIs in the internal areas of star ports(they owe me)
  • Accessing richly detailed planetary surfaces(they owe me)
  • Availability of giant ‘executive control’ ships to players(they owe me)

Solid update.

I'm very happy to see those small hardpoints on my Cobra are going to get effective gear for Thargoid battles.
