Couldn't face the trip back to the Gnosis again, so I jumped ahead to HD 51502...


I am beginning to worry about the sanity of the Gnosis crew :D !

Hmm, where shall I park up and wait ?? (They wouldn't ! would they ? :O)



Phew! They didn't... I had visions of having Gnosis parked out at the furthest star again.:rolleyes:

Quick question, as I've seen this come up a couple of times. Permit locks were not always a thing? I did not know this. So, while the Cone Sector is relatively obscure and off the beaten path...given that there is a nebula there and given that nebulas attract explorers...is there a possibility, however small, that we get there and the things have been already tagged and explored by pre-permit lock CMDR's?

too lazy to test this...xbox, if I log on as another user, start the game......will it start from scratch, ie a new commander. ( I imagine two kids with an xbox between them rather than one each could have separate commanders)

been thinking about a restart where the commander ONLY does illegal activities, starting sidewinder will be called the TAINT

i am asking as i waving between 2 ships : Cobra because cobra and ansconda if some jump range is needed.

You may see on the map, that there are gaps of unlocked systems within the locked sectors. For instance the famous non-existant base in V355 Monocerotis is inside such a gap.

As far as I understand, the whole idea about transfering The Gnosis to the Cone sector is to jump to some of those unlocked gaps to let us fly around.

I've flown in the vicinity of the Barnard's Loop (on our side of the "fence", of course) in a 32ly eagle, so I don't think you'll have any difficulties in either of your ships. But keep in mind that at some point the expedition will go to The Formidine Rift, where there are not at all so many stars :)

I parked up safely last night, made a cool million honking the 750ly which is good because I left and didn't even have enough to cover the Insurance, just 30k cr in the bank lol.

So my little Hauler (Paula) is all D Rated with A3 Fuel Scoop, Both Scanners, Adv of course, A2 FSD all built from scratch last night 8pm as a new commander with a SW and 1000cr lol.

Yes, that is correct. If you login to a different XBox account, you will get a new CMDR. I have one, myself. But, unless you have a Gold account for that second login, you will only be able to play in Solo.

Not yet. So far, the Gnosis didn't have a Black Market. But then, neither has Lave station...

But hey, I got an SRV and I got guns. Where there's Thargoid Sensors there have to be Barnacles.

I must congratulate the pilots of the Gnosis. They've found a lovely place to stop for the week, very picturesque.

(Also, conveniently, right above where I parked my ship overnight.)

I've also taken the opportunity to make the short (500Ly ish) hop to Hades Edge.

Although can't help noticing that, in spite of warnings, it seems pretty cool out here. The King of Rome's temperature gauge hasn't topped 60%. Any idea why? Is it just about where the planets are in their orbits?

Funny, I just did the same thing tonight! As for the heat, I don't know, but I'd guess that modern engineered ships just run cooler than what the explorers of yore used? The T6 is notorious for running hot, but mine has Clean drives and a Low Emissions power plant and didn't exceed 70% heat on my visit.

Nice find on the way back too. Discovered a perfect Mars analogue - terraformable red HMC with thin CO2, complete with a landable rocky moon to pose with!

I did consider the risk of a UA-bombing of the Gnosis, but not only does it not have a black market, it also lacks a commodities market. So no way to sell either Thargoid sensors OR meta-alloys.
