Ok, So Brett replied to some misinformed inaccuracies in a lighthearted humourous manner (for him this is exceptional his sense of humour is usually terrible ;P ) and you call him out as being a troll?

To be honest to come to a game forum where you openly dislike the game and the devs seems quite trollish to me.

Honestly, if you don't like the game or the direction it's going that's fine and you're entitled to your opinion and as long as it's constructive in it's feedback that's A ok.

I genuinely don't understand when people who don't like something feel the need to bleat on and on about how much they hate everything associated with it.

Move on, it's a great big world out there.

For some it truly seems to be a rather (quite unhealthy) obsession.

Hell, if I don't like something, I move on and try other things. Others will eat at a restaurant and not like the food but continue to complain incessantly for a decade about it. To what end? Do they think the food will suddenly become palatable to them? Or switch from Italian to Chinese at their very whim?

Oooh.... here's a good one... how about going to another restaurant where the food might seem more palatable instead?

When you so openly dislike developers and game, why you come posting here repeatedly? Why do you expect people who either have some respect towards developers or like game for what it is even with this flaws has to accept your behaviour?

I think you have misunderstood how life works. You say something that is completely or partially false to tarnish people's work. Fine. But can't expect nothing in return. Internet might defend you from angry looks or loud arguing, but it doesn't protect you for being your opinion criticized in return.

Until and unless the 60%+ of this game that is staring at the screen waiting/watching loading screens is replaced by actual interactive game play, this game doesn't have a future. And the real decision makers at fdev know this. Hence, a content delivery pipeline that moves like molasses flowing uphill in the snow, while the A team builds actual, profitable titles instead of wasting more time on a game where the community "manager" trolls forum posters.

So, providing some accurate info to straighten out a ludicrous claim someone was making constitutes trolling now does it?

He cant do that, because FDEV have zero intention of actually delivering on their promises. Or even trying to. They have had four years in which to BEGIN developing the mechanics that support the promises they made. Instead, they used those years for time gating, time sinks and RNG grind. And vain combat betas to try and fix the things RNG broke.

At no point have they even attempted to deliver on the game Braben promised. No will they. Frankly, I dont know why i thought checking on this "update" would be worth the time. I hoped. But as usual, hoping for actual game play in Elite is a long wait for a train dont come.

If the only new exploration mechanic we are getting is probes then I will be severely underwhelmed.

If we are getting a substantial rework with extensive mechanic improvements and content then I will do an extreme happy dance while I pour myself a huge glass of wine and sing songs of adulation!

While I can't speak for Brett I'm 100% certain in this case that he cannot share that kind of information. Forum activity - sure. Game player counts, no. It's just not something that Brett is going to be at liberty to share.

Sure, but FD just chooses not to show those data at this time, as they are not legally obliged to do so.

I doubt the exploration improvements in 3.3 will be enough to satisfy me either. I truly expect them to make up for four years of stagnation, but that would honestly require an entire update completely focused on just exploration, and we already know that a LOT of other stuff is in Q4 too. The delays in the reveal are not promising either. I am still slightly hopeful but the waiting has taken its toll on my morale.

You are right though, after enough time and effort trying to bring exploration improvements to the forefront of Frontier’s attention, it does begin to come across as desperation and whining. Admittedly, especially for myself when I am so passionate about the game improving in this manner. I’ve often wondered why I still care at all when Frontier obviously wants to focus on other directions with the game. Q4 is likely my last stand, if it isn’t enough to get me playing again then I’ll probably walk away completely, because honestly I don’t like coming across as a desperate whiner, but I agree with you it can seem that way.

After a certain point I guess I just have to admit Elite might never be what I expected it to grow into back during the alpha days. Maybe Q4 is that point for me, and why I am so frustrated at the long drawing out of it.
