Community Event / Creation ***Attention Explorers*** GNOSIS Jumps planned THROUGH a permit Lock !

Probably. After all, you can always slip into solo to get a guaranteed landing spot.

And even in open, I've not yet had a problem finding a medium pad for my Aspx.

I had to wait 10 minutes yesterday to get a landing pad, but that was all. Which makes me think, when one logs in again in open, can there be a problem if there are no free slots at the time?

I think the game just spawns a new instance as necessary to make sure you have a free pad when you start the game.

I was in open. There was nobody around... The Teleki Bengal is parked.

Gnosis Run..

Made it to the Gnosis with my T-10..BUT it seems after a few hours of waiting to dock (loged out and back in, jumped out and back in) and I still could not dock (kept getting the Docking denied voice) plus i am playing open. Will try to log on solo or group and see if i can land since there is no reason why a npc ship has to sit in the (only?) large landing pad. Very bad design for a ship that has only 1 large landing pad.

Yeah, I believe the logic in open is that the game will try to put you in an instance with other players if possible, but will spin up a new instance if you otherwise wouldn't be able to enter the game. So if there's no instance with a free (M/L) pad you'll get a new instance for sure if you log in already docked. But if you drop into the Gnosis intending to dock, there's good odds it'll put you in an existing instance and you might find the pads occupied.

Came across a Condor crash site tonight while exploring the ringed planet where Gnosis is in orbit. Occupied escape pod and personal weapons....where did this guy come from...? note coordinates in pic for visit (if that works).

I went looking around but find nothing. Are those things detected from orbit or from the SRV?

It depends on what type of POI it is. If it is a randomly spawned crash site, then yes, it would be visible as a circle on the ships scanner. But, unfortunately, another player won't be able find it. If it's not random like crashed anaconda at Orerre or Bug Hunter, then it's not visible on scanner, but visible for SRV.

Which is the reason, I'm going to be in a small ship...better odds at instancing. If you show up in a large ship, on boot up, you'll always pretty much be by yourself, I'd imagine.

After a few jumps away from the Gnosis I started randomly scanning anything I could find. Came back BAM! first named discovery. That's a pretty good feeling.

I'm curious though.. If you discover something previously undiscovered then why on the system map does it say "Discovered By Blahbejdkdkd"??

Its only listed as discovered once the scan data is turned in, so that comander scanned it before you did and turned in after you scanned more than likely, also i think depends on the type of scanner used

So I'm exploring HD 51502 to pass time and I'm seeing a strange behavior when trying to land in the small moons (never tried that before).

First, they simple appear as a dot. Then, once I start gliding, the glide lasts for several minutes and the altitude indicator goes to -1. The glide is aborted when I'm so close that centrifuge force forces me to abort the glide. Lastly, when in normal flight I reach distance 0km, I hit an invisible something and the distance jumps instantly to the radius of the body.

A couple of screenshots trying to land in a ~500km radius body:

While gliding:

After glide aborted, much closer than actual radius:

Just after hitting the 0km thing, back again to ~500km distance:

Anyone seen this before? A cursory googling doesn't return evident hits.

It's undiscovered for you. They originally discovered it but you have not yet scanned it or bought cartographical data for it so it shows as undiscovered.

I parked up safely last night, made a cool million honking the 750ly which is good because I left and didn't even have enough to cover the Insurance, just 30k cr in the bank lol.

So my little Hauler (Paula) is all D Rated with A3 Fuel Scoop, Both Scanners, Adv of course, A2 FSD all built from scratch last night 8pm as a new commander with a SW and 1000cr lol.
I've got a Sidey called Heidi

How's the trip going?... I'm about to drop in to Solitude while I wait on my keelback parts to be delivered. Any good pics of the Gnosis or the stuff out there? Thx.

OK, I've docked. I can't help but think that having a huge chunk of the active player base out of the bubble and all respawning at a single location may be asking for problems, but what do I know.

Anyway, the Python Spirit of R'lyeh is docked with the Gnosis. Now, can someone point me to the nearest bar?

Can't answer your question but thanks for raising another interesting one: What happens if a module transfer overlaps with the next departure of the Gnosis? Will it still be delivered to the old condition, as both in time and transfer fee?

AFAIK, the credits are deducted on the moment you click transfer, also, the timer is set on that moment too. As the item is not actually travelling, only it's location was updated with a timed lock, it will materialize on the new destination (wherever it is) for it's original price and transfer duration.
