News Focused Feedback Forum Content Schedule

I like the concept of the FFF my issue is when they do something like squadrons where they provide too little information about the subject for us to focus on.

The FFF was Frontier's idea, and it was a good one, so I think some moaning is justified when they fail to follow through with it. It isn't like major changes are made as a result of FFF feedback anyway, it's more for minor tweaks and generally just letting us know what they're planning.

A lot of people comment on the mining did so in reference to exploration as well (ie scanning probes, etc..). I wonder if they felt they got enough from that that they felt okay to go ahead with what they planned and save themselves some time to stay on schedule?

Yes, exploration is still a key part of the update in Chapter Four and it won't be too long before we're ready to start showing some of the great work the devs have been working on.

A lot of people are bummed with the removal of carriers and ice-planets out of Q4, but it seems exploration discussion isn't far off!

I assume most people in this thread don't care much for Carriers, Q4 was always a Exploration+Mining update for me [smile]

I don't really mind what Q4 brings as long as it doesn't fundamentally change what I can currently do. Anything on top is great, anything instead might be good, might not be. I don't really want to have to carry even more modules for example, and I'd prefer not to have to refit if I'm already out (but may choose to).

Yeah. I'm a little disappointed, but not seriously so. Carriers and ice planets aren't the only things that are coming. I'm more concerned about the missing focused feedback for exploration. If that's forgotten or not given enough time and importance (like OOPP was), then I don't know what they're thinking.

I swear some people must do the DOOM thing in the hopes that if enough people sing the DOOM song the devs will get nervous and offer tidbits of info...

But it works!

If that's their actual intention it's exteremely selfish. Because they're trying to turn people against the devs and sour the community just in the hopes of getting a bit more info, not caring that the action have longer lasting ramifications outside that goal. It's like yelling fire in a theatre in the hopes of clearing everyone out so you can watch the movie without anyone blocking your view.

Or they're just frustrated. Take your pick as to which is more likely.

There are times when I wonder if some of the ones yelling fire have been hired by or are advocates of a rival production to get more people going to their theatre, in this instance by No Starcitizens Sky or the other one. Other times I am less convinced that they have such noble motives.

Yeah, I never chalk up to malice what is better attributed to selfishness and stupidity. ;)

Well.

Now that we are more focused then ever before on exploration with the fleet carriers and paid DLC that won't make it in 2018...can we have the FFF on exploration / CODEX now ? :D

You did? Well I'm sure FD took note of your constructive criticism as they move on with Beyond.

Considering how close Q4 is...and assuming the update isn't dropping on Christmas, which I wouldn't put past them...it's problematic and revealing that FFF hasn't brought in Codex.

Kind of like FFF on Powerplay has stalled. Again.
Kind of like FFF on Mining has stalled.
Kind of like FFF on C&P has resulted in...y'know, *that* C&P system that totally screwed The Gnosis encounter up more than it already was.

It's all just disheartening. FFF is a great idea and I like to think the feedback is helping them make good decisions...or the very least, avoid poor ones. But the funny thing about feedback is it is meant to be two-way communication. The Powerplay FFF is the ONLY feedback that actually had a return response. That has since gone nowhere. Kind of like this announcement.

'Hey guys, we're not doing planned stuff...but we're not telling you what the planned stuff is...so the planned stuff might be planned or might not be, depending on when you're planning for it. There's a plan though, and it has stuff.'

I think that technically the Flash Proposal on Power Play wasn't part of FF

The C&P worked fine in the Gnosis incident at least as far as the punishment side was concerned it was the failure to switch off the weapons restrictions, from what I could gather from the mega thread.

I do agree that the FFF is a good idea and that it really needs more interaction from the FDev side which I think did happen on C&P even if it didn't achieve the impossible of pleasing everyone.
