No! No! No! No! Everyone of you are wrong about this issue and PvP problems!!!
People usually combat log when they're being bullied by wing groups, or people with much larger ships that give them no opportunity for fair play.
You know I think back to when I first started playing ED 4 years ago, and why it was more fun back then.
For one, there was no such thing as human with human wing groups!
I've been thinking about PvP problems for a very long time now, and I believe I can offer an excellent solution.
Hear me out a little bit, as it's not the kind of solution that would penalize would be PvP players, but a solution that would level the playing field.
But, before I give you a solution, let's talk about player phsycology for just a little bit here:
First of all, you the following kinds of players in the game:
A Pansy: Pansies are those players who get really upset when you waste them, especially if you waste them fairly. Then, they go and get there buddies to wing up (usually with larger ships) to come after you. They just can't hack it when it comes to fair play. (Most likely because this is the kind of game they'll never get good at too!) They should just go play another game, that's easier...
A Bully: A Bully is a player, much like a Pansy, that also cannot accept challenges nor play fairly either. But, they are far worse than the occasional pansy. In fact, they get off by winging with other ships, and bullying the solo guys. And, they'll hang around in community goal areas for hours, if not all day long, and spoiling the fun for everyone else.
The Solo Guy: Then there are the solo guys (like myself). These are the kind of players (usually the best players) that never see any reason to wing. We can take an kick'n, and we can dish out the punishment too! Solo guys are the ones that may not have any buddies (that enjoy playing this game) to wing with, or they don't trust winging with people online that they don't know.
I tried winging a couple of times, but I found that it greatly reduces the challenge and the glory of the kill.
And, at one time the wing group I was in turned on me.
So, I decided to hell with wing groups. I can't trust other players, and I don't need them!
But anyways, I'm just too darn good to have a need for wingmen, and I always look for challenging solo PvP.
So, here's the solution I can offer, that I've thought about for a long time now:
First, eliminate human with human wing groups. It is obvious that human fighters are better than bots. So, if I'm flying an ASP, and I get interdicted by a group of three (say an ASP also, and with a couple of eagles), well it's quite obvious I'm out numbered and out gunned. Plus these stupid frame shift drives "mass lock you in" so that there's very little possibility of escape.
Not only that, but by allowing humans to wing with other humans, they easily form mobs and spoil the fun for everyone else. And, they usually wing only to take out a single guy that they just can't beat on their own.
Instead, make it to where you can hire (and even train maybe) bots for you wing group. This is so, if you think you're going to need some help, you can hire bots for wingmen. And, even the solo guy could hire some wingmen too! Then, depending on how hard you work at it, maybe you can train your bots or even upgrade their ships.
But, wingmen bots should probably be only be limited to ASPs, Vultures, or smaller class fighters.
I believe that this idea would significantly level the playing field, and separate the men from the boys!!
