The rise of smart phones with video cameras mean that pretty much every event that happens can be captured on camera, from tsunamis to fireballs. Why haven't ghosts or UFOs had a massive spike in their footage?

I do not believe in anything supernatural.
I believe the supernatural has been made up by humans to cope with what they do not understand or control.
Through magic, prayer rituals they hope to control that which is uncontrollable.

Interesting PoV, especially given my belief it can't be controlled.

Like I say in my OP, I do respect the sciences, and who knows? Maybe my "magick" is just science, but not yet recognised as a field.

It's easier to say no.

It's a correct answer when a person with a positivist approach asks that - he defines magick by what he doesn't believe. The rest is just knowledge he have yet to obtain. I only believe in the latter - it's no small thing.

It's also a correct answer when a holistic/mystic asks the question. He knows that there is only one magick, the rest is association and interpolation. But 'to see' is a better verb here than 'to believe'.

And it's the only ethically correct answer when the fool asks the question. They'll find nothing of use there.

So either way, no.

I appreciate the honesty. :)

What's with the flipping K on the end of the word magic?

How my friends spell it.

EDIT:

Sorry, accidentally hit enter.

I was going to add that they spell it as such, basically to differentiate from Penn & Teller type magic. It's not without reason, and extremely common within Wicca.

This is nicely illustrated by declining number of "gods" humanity has.
We no longer need gods of rain and thunder, because we understand how weather works. We stopped praying to gods for food, because we know how to farm successfully on our own. And so on.

One of the last "successful" gods are the gods of death, because that's one of the things some people still fear. :)

And as for the supernatural in more mundane sense, yeah. I love urban fantasy, for example, but as much as I'd love werewolves and dragons to be real, they're not. :D

Thermodynamics or ghosts. If the body sustains life, then there cannot be an afterlife. If, as some claim, there is a spirit that resides within, but not reliant on or exclusive to the body; maybe there is more, though why we would need a body in the first place would then be questionable.

Perhaps the universe has memory.

There is the theory that our lives are actually a simulation.

No, I agree that I'm treading on thin ice and now is the time to lock thread. I've said what I needed to say.
