Sorry posting pics again =p

Old vs New

Engines were realigned horizontally, and one set of 3 removed.

Height is reduced (probably due to lack of fighter bay).

Realigning of engines means a flatter top, two slanted panes have been added to the rear so it angles upward slightly.

Looks like it might have the same weapon loadout, 2 medium, and 3 (maybe 2) large, it's hard to tell if the centre top mount is there.

Better start a campaign to have it buffed. It needs more thrusters lol.

Unidentified Signal Sources and conflict zones will also appear as dotted lines within this mode, allowing you to easily track down interesting or important things within the system.

Hoping this means we can still "discover" things by flying out to them and also get a rough idea of the primary body counts in a system with the honk. If so, I'm all on board with the new mechanics to optionally refine the details.

Cheers, and thanks for the update. :)

I'm sure FDev wishes that as well, but it's a MS and Sony thing. All updates (Beta's as well) have to be certified. So in essence, you're never really playing a 'beta' on console like you are for a beta on PC. Since it's not a final release version, MS and Sony won't post up a beta version to download.

MS have been doing that for Early Game Access for years now. In fact, they did it for ED on Xbox - myself and others brought the early access version of this game.

Looks amazing. Thanks again FD. Like the "ufo" light array on the new Krait variant. And looking forward to the extra pleasant surprises with the culmination of Beyond.

Eh, I find mining to be one of the most enjoyable things to do in Elite. Not because it's super profitable, it isn't. Not because the ores are useful, they aren't. I love mining for the hunting aspect of it, I find the search for those golden goose rocks alluring. The scenery doesn't hurt either, flying around very scenic ring systems, dodging spinning chunks of death while needing to also fly close to them. It's a lonely, solitary profession, yet with some of the best gameplay and superlative scenery in the entire game too.

So yeah, adding some skill and more mechanics while also allowing us to blow up space rocks will only make it better IMHO. Like I said above, I worry that 3.3 will have me enjoying mining MORE than exploring!!!

Mining also needs to have that rare feeling of hitting the lottery too. Hopefully you should be able to crack open a rock and find riches. No prospector ever went out to the gold rush in ages past so that they could meek out a living finding a tiny nugget every now and then.

Oh, also just wondering if perhaps you guys were considering aurora type plasma effects maybe in addition to the lightning, since electrical discharges work a bit differently in a near vacuum.

Don't get me wrong. I think it looks very cool, but you know... science in sci-fi and all that. ;)

Cheers. :)
