The Expanse was alright. Dark Matter was better.
Agreed! But I liked watching both. And now we have neither. Who TH is in command there at the SyFy makes me wonder?
Season 3 is not on Netflix 
gets a little shark-jumpy in Season 2 but they manage to reel it back in for S3.
It's got spaceships and a colonised solar system (ours), politics, double crossing, mining of the asteroid belt, zero g's and and and... Just watch it already, it's <redacted> fantastic - and avoid spoilers! Some people say it starts slow but if you love writers like Alastair Reynolds or want to see humanity colonising the solar system with believable tech and believable problems, you'll love it!
The best thing since... well, it's its own thing really.

The public Beta has already started in The Expanse... They're already testing the surface probes. That's really unfair!
I wouldn't know much about that....what with season 3 STILL not available in the UK. *grumble grumble*

Yes. A future with literally one (weak, made for tv) swear word, what a terrible future awaits humankind. Added to the cardboard cutout hero poker playing ‘jock’ pilot replete with cigar with the twist being it’s a woman....wow. A real struggle to watch and I wanted to like it so much.

Heh, oh. Didn't even get it the end of season 1.
Seriously it's probably the best Sci Fi show since the last BSG.(Not the crappy prequal to that though.)
I go out of my way to recommend to everyone who even remotely likes science fiction.
The Expanse is TV that I make a point of watching.
I saw the first episode, then read the first book before episode 2 aired. There's some scenes that are word for word exactly like the book.
There's also a number of scenes in the books where you think "Nope, they won't get that on TV". Don't be too sure.
The main thing I like about it is that the show producers have gone to great lengths to make the different habitats and locations believable. Earth gravity to someone brought up on Earth is normal, but Belters grow up in approx 1/3rd G. Bringing a Belter down to Earth is a form of torture where they're constantly 3x heavier than they're used to. Ceres spins to simulate 1/3rd G so birds don't have to fly as hard, liquids flow differently and people grow tall and thin with (relatively) weak bones.
My favourite scene was where (ship) chases (target) and has to punch up to high G acceleration just to keep up. Apart from a slight change for TV (speaking lines instead of typing them), the producers managed to exactly nail the scene from the book IMO.
If you like sci-fi TV shows, you should very much like The Expanse.

This was the only scene where i thought "wow hell.....you're serious with that cheap set?"
Everything else on the first 2 seasons was just great^^
For 3/4 i have to wait many years here in germany because not even the trailers are available here. I've needed to go via vpn to be able to see that!
