I don't know if it's even a euphemism or if it's just a very succinct complete history of the project. It would probably be trivial to directly tie every specific appearance of and promise by Chris to whatever new and fancy thing was showing in trailers and films at any given moment over the last decade.
Posting technical terms that can be confusing isnt really an issue. That the communication between CiG and backers is so utterly broken that clarification is impossible is. If both sides would actually talk to each other confusion could be cleared up quickly and we wouldnt have 20 different versions of the same thing. But thats not whats happening. And obviously clarity is the last priority of CiG when confusion and run-away hype/dreams rack in more money.

As expected, schedule really doesn't help people looking for clarity, but it serves CIG and it's supporters to point out 'see, we make progress'. In that sense, video and user testimonies are a bit reliable, although they are also highly subjective.
