The Rich and.... bored

Hi all millionaire commanders of the galaxy.

What have you been doing after having so many credits?

I recently got to 50M and well not much to do besides messing around (fighting on the conflict zones, ramming security vessels).

Edit: 43M I remember I crashed my Conda on a station yesterday and got the insurance bug

Stop playing the game for 12 hours a day would probably be a good start!

In all seriousness though I would stop playing as come release you wont want to!

This is one of my big fears. I really hope that FD have given serious thought to emergent gameplay. There needs to be other goals outside of earning credits. In other words, amassing wealth should be a side effect of doing other activities - or a means to an end; a tertiary goal.

Right now it seems like every single thing you can do in the game revolves around earning credits, and after you get a fortune there's no other purpose to the game - other than griefing, perhaps.

Hopefully the richness of the universe, and the activities thereof, are to the point that you can spend an entire career as a commander flying between a handful of systems.

Lol. No need to play for 12hrs a day, once you have a type 9 tere are routs that can yield more than 800k on a single run. I do play every day but not that much:D

Edit: agreee with fourty. Hopefully they'll have a mechanic that makes the game not soley depending on amazing credits

i got upto about 4 mil with a fully kitted Conda and since then i've been playing almost exclusively as a bounty hunter, blowing those scumbag NPC pirates to bits and having a great laugh doing it, i've not been picking up cargo so still travel with a bit in my hold just to ensure i can cover repairs if needed. so far i'm in the region of 400 kills and want to see if i can make it to 1000 before the next wipe.

Kill count sounds nice might try that, a bit hard though cause NPCs run out the moment I pull out my guns. (Unless you go to hermitage, but I already have my mission panel plagued by bounties that can't be claimed)

two words for you: nav beacons.

they still run if you give them a chance but with a fully kitted conda (2 c5 G beam lasers and all other hardpoints filled with mulicannons) you can kill them so fast they cant often escape, just get in close before you open fire ;)

One thing I also tried was to replicate the famous video of the CMDR docking in silent. On the Conda is very doable to enter with 4% undetected (no silent running) could not be done on the type 9 xD

Still getting clobbered with bugs tbh but still login most days and do some combat until I get bugged with insurance etc.
Landed in a Sidwinder from Cobra/Viper 5 times in the last couple of sessions so stooging around trading for the next couple of sessions, a bit annoying but gotta keep testing. :p

I see the phrase "keep on testing" quite a lot on this forum. Maybe at the end there will be cake? (If you catch my drift) :p

I just started playing the first of this month. Once I reached 13m I started practicing combat, practicing smuggling, experimenting with various weapons and systems, and generally farting around. I've been mostly avoiding PvP whilst I work on my combat flying ability. Not that dying to a player bothers me, but I hate to be embarrassingly bad. I do have one player kill (sanctioned - it was in Eranin Fed distress) - he must have been really bad!

At less than 30k to replace my viper or cobra (frequently :p) I don't plan on mucking about trading until the next wipe.

As for testing? Sure I submit tickets for things that aren't known issues - It is in my interests to do so. But frankly I don't feel obligated to focus on testing. I payed extra to play now primarily so that when the final game is released I won't be clueless. And besides I just couldn't wait ;)

I to started to do this ..... it's all I do now. It's a great feeling trying to sneak past the Feds. I just tend to hang about nav points and kill Wanted NPC haulers, when they drop their loot (normally battle weapons) I run it to the local black markets.

But yes, I to worry about the lack of alternative things to do in the Galaxy, and now I'm reaching a point where dying is irrelevant (8 mill creds) I find myself getting a tad bored. Rinse and Repeat.

Where to start?

The ultimate goal in the game is to become Elite - in hopefully as many of the paths that will become available as possible - credits only being one.

As the devs progress the game, there will be exploring, mining, subversion, galaxy politics, (proper) bounty hunting, (proper) pirating (both for goods as as freelance) and emergent play deriving from that. And that is just for the initial release, with options and capabilities increasing from there.

To treat the current beta as anything other than testing - I.e. considering and playing it as a game will only result in burn out if too much time is spent in the currently fairly restricted scope.

If you feel that you have seen all there is to see, played all the play there is to play and dutifully reported all the bugs you encountered; then why not take a break until more of the game is added?

Which nav beacon are you refering to? I've killed lots of npcs on lsh 3262 nav beacon (including condas and type 9) and they don't drop anything

Well now I got my fully kitted out Cobra with all the bits I wanted I am just experimenting on all the things I would not risk doing after the game is released, all the naughty things basically, found out some bits and pieces I would have never known about before, keep your hair on, I only play Solo so only the NPC's subjected to my torturous testing :D

Since you've got money to burn why don't you try and get the biggest bounty possible?
Currently I hear the biggest is a couple of hundred thousand.
See if you can break a million.

I've tried but Im not that good of a pilot and end up dying after 20k (which I was able to reach thanks to that video of entering the station un low temp)

i mainly hunt within a short jump of freeport so Eranin, ibootis, alulin and LS 98-132 itself. surprised you haven't had any drop cargo, i often leave not because of damage of lack of ammo but because there are so many cargo pods floating around i cant find the ships on my radar any more.
