This game has loose any attractive

Horrible boring.

I disagree.

On that note, I completely understand and emphasize with people who announce they are quitting because they initially love the game but bugs or flawed design ruin some aspect of the game for them. Heck, I've done it myself! When I did it, my overall message was, "Hey Frontier, I really love this game, but it's broken and I can't play it anymore. If you fix these one or two things, I'll be back!" But I do not understand why people who find the game boring from the get-go create an account on the game's forum just to announce they are leaving... It's their right, of course, I just don't understand the motivation.

I feel entitled to lecture you all on giving totally unnecessary unhelpful comments without showing the OP the proper respect.

And no, you don't get my stuffz :D

It was the best VR game when it add support for VR but after spend some hours this weekend the game is out for me. I have uninstall it.

- Fly trough any system is tedious. It has no sense. You spend hours and hours flying around any system where planets are about 10 minutes away in many cases.
- Refuel is terrible, the speed of refueling is horrible.
- Missions ended stupidly when you aproach a hub and suddenly witthout any second to react you are hit down. Do not understand at all. No time to negotiate a bill or something, just hundreds of shots firing at you and you are end after four or five hours flying around to try to end an eternal mission.

Horrible boring. The game has ended for me. It is a pity because I love the VR support but I cant suffer anymore the slowness of this game, and in VR a game must be minutes, not hours.

Bye bye Elite. Let's try another things.

But it's not a game, it's a VPU. You said so yourself.

Hi everybody, commander jahrv here starting in this forum of this amazing game! It is the begginig of a new type of games that we cannot name "videogames" anymore. This is the beggining of the virtual persistent universes, or VPUs. I am excited to the most with the idea of being able to loose yourself traveling the galaxy.

See you commanders.

Not sure how long the OP has been playing ED, but the wording of his post suggests that it has not been long.

I and many others have been playing ED for years and, for me, there are still things I have not seen or tried. No, I not saying ED is perfect, just that the OP's post is not an accurate critique of the game.

That being said, ED is not for everyone and, it seems, definitely not for the OP so respect his decision to move one. Probably no point in telling us, but cheers anyway.

I think part of the issue is that the game is very hard for a new player. Especially if they are playing alone and not reading the forums and/or not used to the game mechanics in this type of game. Many things in ED make no logical sense. We just have to know how it works. Some people will learn quickly through trial and error others will just cant find a way through.
I really appreciate people posting if they are uninstalling as it sometimes demonstrates where players are getting stuck. I hope that the developers read them too.

I think you are right about it being very hard for new players. One of the best ways to get help if you do find it difficult is to post on the forums, but if what you post is 'I have uninstalled the game. Bye' then it's a bit late to offer help. It would be better to post before quitting. That way people can offer suggestions to mitigate anything you find difficult or annoying in the game (and people on these forums are generally very helpful indeed if you ask). Once you have that advice you would be in a better position to decide if ED is the game for you.

If the OP is still reading this thread and would like to give ED another chance, I would advise asking for help with specific issues (like how do I scoop fuel faster), dropping in on the galactic academy and winging up with some helpful commander who can pass on useful tips and tricks (again just ask. There will be plenty of volunteers).

it is probably not the place for this topic however i do think some handholding for the 1st few hrs of the game would be really good.... and fun as well.

has anyone here tried the voiced "training" scenarios?

I think this should be massively expanded upon and be how all players are introduced to the game at the start of play. we dont have our own ship but are given a set of missions to do, which talk us through all parts of the game, voiced over, and then on completing them we have accrued a small amount of money which we can then put towards buying either a sidewinder, eagle or hauler and a few upgrades.

it could then handhold the player through every part of the game. IF a player really refuses to do this, then they can skip if they want and start with the default sidey and 1k credits.

The game started off with a steep learning curve and it has gotten steeper with every update. Some form of enhanced tutorial would be very useful for new players and I think Mike's suggestion is a good one.

Just updating the manual would be a start.

Honestly - still at v2.4 of the game. How is a new player to have any chance when the developers can't even be bothered to update a pdf "living manual" for so long? Disgusting really.

The problem is big. Space is big!

Space by nature is big, empty, and space does what space does... occupy space.

We're lucky our ships take a few mins to travel between planets, and a few minutes to travel to other systems...

It could be in real time!

No comment maybe? That would likely have been better than snipes or whatever. Obviously this customer is not too happy and expressing their opinion/feelings. And if one doesn't agree then ignore it; if one has something helpful then please comment. But tis the Internet where anything goes! :)

I see that you are failing to take your own advice.

Similar feeling here. Elite went into too many bad directions, keeping alive too many bad bugs, making the multiplayer experience a mess. I am back into Dirt Rally. [hehe]

I was confused too. I enjoy being confused.
Wish I had vr. Wish I had more time to play.
You say tomato. I say best game ever.

Fortunately for the OP there are an increasing number of VR games in many different genres. I hope he finds one he enjoys as much as many here enjoy ED. :)

I was wondering about it. For now I think he was just being sarcastic and mocking himself. If not: LOL. [haha]

My Steam account with 2700 hrs playing this games tells me this game is absolutely terrible and must be deleted immediately.

Whatever happened to a letter copying your recently deceased Grandad's will, "He's dead now but said you can have his ship. So anyway good luck, see ya bye" eh? .. sighs ;)

Ship owner instructions are a good thing but I don't think 'how you play this game' is so much.

Space is dangerous, tough to survive in and so on and etc grumble grumble.

OP, may I suggest you RDR 2? You will enjoy the horse's rear side and balls hours and hours, you will have to feed and brush up the horse much more often than refueling in ED and the mission system will bring you back every time you don’t follow the predetermined script. And this is AAA game designed by few times bigger team with several times bigger budget. In other words, in most of the games you will lose your time either flying in supercruise or watching the horse’s rear side. The choice is yours. Personally, I prefer the cockpit than horse’s rear side.

this would work i think if all the games features worked in a logical and , more importantly consistent with each other way..... ie feature A works this way so obviously if i use same logic for feature B that will work too.... however this simply is not the case with elite.

the games features which on their own may be a fun mechanic do not really tie in together, therefore using logic and common sense to find you way is not really going to work imo..

i personally do not think random trial and error is a good mechanic and it seems FD (and many players) do not want to be tied into game design constraints just because other features elsewhere are.... so imo it is vital ED has a really good instruction manual and ideally an (optional) training introduction.

The original Elite came with an operating manual.
