The Rich and.... bored

You mean emergent gameplay such as this?:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbaLJTGHkj8

You seem to be looking at larger ships as a kind of "End game"... Why stick to an Annie when you can have a blast with a Sidewinder? ;-)

In my case, after i got some 15 MM Cr. I sold my type 9 and got back into my Viper. With all that money I have now I can try all the weapons I want, the way I want and how I want (never tried Anacondas yet).

And it s a blast to be honest. Living the life of a fighter pilot without Cr. is tough but now after saving some it is so much fun.

I cant wait until they revamp the Eagle as planned to give her more jump range, because that is going to be my baby. Cant beat those turn rates and the coolness of that nimble ship.

The greatness of ED is that, even in an early beta stage, the game already allows for players to NOT need to get the larger ships to have fun or as an "End Game".

Looks like you quoted the wrong person, because nowhere did I mention larger ships, or it being an end game. I said that there needs to be more things to do than earn credits, i.e. a tertiary goal.

The video you linked serves as a poor example for emergent gameplay. It's just a different way of flying to the docking port without being scanned so he can sell stolen cargo for credits - it's what people do when they are bored (find creative ways of doing mundane things). You can do the same thing with a chaff launcher.

I'm talking about actual purpose, cause and effect, and consequences to your actions. Manufacturing, wars, blockades, assassinations, espionage, boarding derelict ships for artifacts that you can use for manufacturing, doing the actual poisoning of the progenitor cells (not just reading about it from the weekly newsletter), etc.

Yes, yes. I understand that it's coming. I'm giving FD feedback and hoping that they've given it serious thought NOW, instead of having to go back to drawing board after they already did the work.

In X Rebirth, every single thing that you can do ends up revolving around earning credits and it's incredibly shallow. I hope Elite is different. Only 4 more months for retail release.

first of all i think that NPC missions should be capped at a max of 20,000 k, no matter how big of a ship you have.

it would also be pretty amazing if one of the end goals would be to build your own space station in fringe, lawless systems. this of course would require billions of credits to construct, many millions to maintain, but would also create a way for you to generate income depending on how many pilots trade inside of it. of course the station would be open to attacks by other players if they have appropriate sieging weapons.

rich and creative ...

I think it will be much harder to earn money soon.

So now I will try EVERYTHING that comes into my mind.
Flying is my content now ... Im still getting better from day to day.
My skills with assisted flight mode off get better. I am still learning very much every time i play.

I will try racing, build up high bounty, smuggling, fiddling around with supercruise ... so much I will do now, that wont be easy to test later.

You'll find it in LHS 3262

I think that's the only place you can buy it.

Thanks... Actually at the World equestrian games in Normandy.
UK have already won several gold medals – if anyone cares..:D

Horses and Elite - an eclectric mix.
Is there a planned horse transporter module for my L 9 ? :D

feel free so spread the wealth ;)

I dont want to ruin the final game by playing too much unfinished stuff , but i would love to be able to try out 1 or 2 of the ships I will never get to play in the final game (anaconda / lacon 9) :p

Well if there was a mechanic to transfer credits or ship I would start a charity to stop all the post "I lost my loadout to a bug wah wah!! This game sucks"

When I am very rich, I want to be able to build my own big station with hotel, tourist attractions, restaurants, banks, and more inside it.:)

I think there used to be a game that was exactly about that. Can't remember the name now but you had to build a station with comodities for humans and aliens alike

Hi all millionaire commanders of the galaxy.

What have you been doing after having so many credits?

I recently got to 50M and well not much to do besides messing around (fighting on the conflict zones, ramming security vessels).

Edit: 43M I remember I crashed my Conda on a station yesterday and got the insurance bug

Have you tried any pvp? ship down to a smaller ship. A fully fit viper loss will only cost you about 10k credits to replace. So... that's a lot of losses you can take.

And by the time this game goes public and your wallet is reset you will at least know how to fight. (you already know how to make money)

Been doing that. Showing on the conflict zone with a Anaconda is like showing up with candy to a day care center for children. Got some CMDRs at leats before blowing up :D

I know its Beta but from what I read they think they have enough to release in 2014?...

Well they had better have 100 times more content done and dusted behind the scenes or ED will flop hard.

This is not a game yet it is a tech demo - there is zero content - and games need much much more than zero content.

As much as fan boys swoon and praise everything they themselves will have no game to play if ED fails so they had better get real with the rest of us. Fan boys are this games biggest enemies to it's success.

Let's just hope there is a huge mountain of content waiting to add to the small pebble we have right now - if not..... DELAY or fail.

No doubt, but I'm sure there are plans to replace a lot of the "place holder" content. We have just enough content to push the boundaries of the net code for FD. This is our job right now. Not to consume content. Adding "missions" and other content is a lot easier to implement when the core of the game is up and running.

Besides the only real content that matters is how well the Open play mode is implemented. For that, they need to really put some work into player-to-player interactions (trading, contracts, fleet groupings, pvp, etc). If they fail here then Elite will fade after a year or two. No matter how good it is.

I second the racing challenge, it's an awesome way to hone piloting, docking and navigation skills.

You're just saying that because you keep winning. Mark my words, in this round, you are going down! (Though maybe not at my hand. ;) )

The next run starts 00:00 GMT on Sunday...

It's called....wait for it....playing :)

Indeed, but it just seems silly to keep grinding away if its boring for you.... especially when your progress will be cleared.

If you love trading I could understand that but if you say your bored of doing it..... why do it?

Surely there are fun (completed) games out there you can play whilst you wait for this one to come out?
