Even without the disease risk, destroying the native culture of these people to introduce them into the wider world at the very bottom of the totem pole, as they likely have nothing of value to the wider world other than that culture (and then only as a historical oddity), would not likely have done them any favors.
Verbal communication isn't the only kind, and he was making repeated visits.,,he could reasonably have expected to eventually be able to communicate well enough to get his message across...at which point they probably realized he was a nut and put a couple of arrows in him.
They wanted to kill the evil (the madness) which was in him.
They may have been scared witless. They may have lnowledge of what happened to neighbouring tribes in the past. Or they may just be belligerent.

The cerebellum has advanced to the point where we install post crime solutions and a legal system to avoid the insta-judgement of those afflicted by the crime.

"if wanted in there space or not" misses a point: for whatever reason it has been decided that these people should not be 'contacted'. it is uncertain if this will be forever, and it's a tough dilemma, but anyhow that's the current approach. 'uncontacted' means they have no notion whatsoever of the values you take for granted, nor the obligations, so you simply cannot demand responsibility from them. that's not being modern but just the rational and fair recognition that they have their own frame of reference and, if you wish, moral compass. you should instead care about what to do with our own people willing to compromise such common accord while putting lives at risk, including their own. well, seems the sentinelese have dealt swiftly with this one, so no hurry.
