PvP New PvP Tactic

How's this for a new PvP tactic for those of us who completely suck at it?

Self Destruct Logging, or SDL. :D

When you know you are just flat going to lose, just pop over to the right panel and hit the Self Destruct button. That way you can rob your attacker of their glorious content while not having to log out of the game in any sort of way.

Actually I came up with this tonight while waiting to pop under fire. It appears that I just suck at PvP no matter how hard I try, or which tactic I try (fight or run), or which ship I try it in, or whatever. So the last fight I was in tonite I decided to throw in the towel, X my throttle and wait to pop. I'm done with it. This tactic appeared to confuse my adversary for a few seconds but the death blow was finally dealt.

So from now on whenever I get interdicted, or fired upon, by another player I will just hunt for the SD button. LOL.

Spending 20hrs a day flying to "git gud" just isn't an option.

For the record, I will continue to fly in Open and accept any and all encounters, preferably with an o7 or a howdy.

OK, little rant over. Thanks for your time.
That isn't going to work, as the attacker still gets what they wanted; you to die. /thread

We just want to see your pretty, and expensive ship explode.

We don't care if it's us that kills you, or if you off yourself. Your rebuy is still the same.

Git gud.

Do you encourage the use to the menu log? Call it the 15 second 'git gud' challenge to griefers?

Don't take it to your heart Commander, happens from time to time, to all of us. Wasn't successfully interdicted and lost my ship for ages now. Most importantly, have fun in Open don't give up.

The term "COMBAT LOGGING" is only a negative in certain circumstances and not at other times when though one does the same exact thing for the same exact reason isn't considered "COMBAT LOGGING". I learned in my youth that a Rose was still a Rose by any other name. I paid the same as everyone else, it belongs to me, it is stated somewhere that I can play how I want, dam those that says it cheating, everyone's entitled to their own beliefs. It's an explot that is or can be deemed cheating by some and not others just as any other exploit can be. I mean rather than play the game "NORMALLY" and aquire rank and or cr's "NATURALY" one goes to or use to go to a "Quincy" or a "SOTHIS" or other such place for one reason an one reason alone. To by pass the games natual and designed way of aquiring rank and or cr's. To those that do so, it's not cheating, to those that choose not to it is cheating.

FDEV themselves concur that using COMBAT LOGGING to save oneself during a battle is cheating, but it's ok if one has to perform the same exact process when it's for what ever other purpose like getting stuck in the toast rack. Well sorry, FDEV didn't give me the game, thus should have a nickle in that quarter. I can and will take their suggestion(s) under advisement but the bottom line is as they will state that I or anyone else can do and play my way. Should that include the unaccepted version of an explot that is allowed at other times is my deceision and mine alone. I'm the one that has to live with my self.

How come you are that bad? Aint that hard...

I've had a lot of T6's ram themselves to death on my Python (oo-er sounds weird) after I have stolen their cargo and would have let them go without firing a shot.

Some men just have too much pride and not enough brains.

Well it may not be a problem if you didn't steal their stuff

Don't try to come up with ways to "grief the griefers", you're gonna lose anyways...

Thats not strictly true my dude...

I have some lovely griefer trolling builds :D

815mps Pa courier

630mps Eagle that runs at near 0% heat for the entirety of fights

Hull tank Viper 4 with Pa's and Seekers

Any of them are more than adequate to cause them annoyance. The Viper's build like a brick****house, the Courier can't be caught and attacks outside the OC/Eff range, and the Eagle is mostly seeker and gimbal proof (With the exception of noob mode emmisive in play).

But most griefers wouldn't pay any attention to those ships anyways , I certainly wouldn't.

Yeah I'm not sure why "anti griefers" do this kind of thing. I just want a good fight.

When I see ships like this I just low wake out and ignore them.

Why not build legitimate ships to fight us and defeat us?

I ran into a variant of this tactic just a few minutes ago:

OP's talking about self-destructing after being interdicted.

This guy apparently didn't have any time for that, so he did the interdicting himself then rammed a beat up FDL into a ship of more than four times the mass.

Yeah, that was interesting.

And quick!

Lol...

"Bug on the windshield."

What do I care if they commit suicide? No issue for me.

Piracy - catch and release is very satisfying. The only thing better is when they fight back. And ramming doesn't even count.
