Totally wrong. Seasons weren't even a thing when the LEP was created. It was expansions, yet despite FD's trickery LEP guys still got Seasons free. I guess FD need to go back to rip-off school. I hear there's a master class in LA somewhere.
When Frontier sold the LEP seasons weren't a thing. The LEP simply said owners would be entitled to all 'expansions', which they still are.
The Horizons and beyond seasons were expansions, and whatever new features and content Frontier sells in the future, whatever the monetization model, will be equally covered.
Nothing has changed.
That's only true for the LEP offered during the backer period. When I bought mine, the season model was already in use. This was when Horizons was close to launch, and it was stated seasons would last about a year (which Horizons lasted 2), and that atmo landings, and space legs were stated as other large planned updates at that time.
I'm personally not bitter atm, but I probably will be if things other big promised updates like space legs/atmo landings never materialise. They were, after all, stated as planned updates at that time.
However, I have two RL friends who also bought the LEP at the same time, and neither of those have played in over two years now. One certainly is bitter about it, but the other has more money than sense and likely couldn't care less.
As things stand, I'm not bothered whether we get any free store stuff this year or not, as long as those future updates turn up. Even if they end up being cheaper (or even unpaid updates) I'd still consider my money well spent as helping with the development.
