Not to sound ungrateful, but no love for LEP?

LEP holders need to remember that we didn't pre purchase to receive extra content. We did so to receive the paid expansions, nothing more, nothing less.

I bought mine for that reason but also so that I didn't have to justify each expansion with SWMBO and also to throw my support behind the project.

I wonder if those who complain about Frontier calling Beyond free would be happier when they called it 'at no additional cost' instead. I seriously doubt it, after all it's not Beyond being free which bothers them but Frontier not looking like a greedy evil company.

It's not the fact that Frontier hasn't released additional content at no additional cost to LEPs, because they have. Surely the implicit complaint is that everyone is getting it at no additional cost?

I have a LEP (oh no, I committed the ultimate sin of saying I have a LEP), and am content to wait for Frontier to deliver on its plans/promises/throw away comments. 2019 looks like the year (subject to non-appearance because of planning changes, technical problems, solar storms, global warming and Apple not doing what Frontier tells them).

No, not really. The discussion about Beyond being free or not isn't even related to the LEP.

I have the LEP as well and I am eager to hear about the next expansion.

LEP holders need to remember that we didn't pre purchase to receive extra content. We did so to receive the paid expansions, nothing more, nothing less. My honest opinion is that if FDev believe LEP holders have waited too long and deserve 'extra goodies' that they should give those extra goodies to non LEP holders as well as a gesture of goodwill to all its customers or none at all.

We are all in the same boat. We are all waiting for new content whether we have already paid for it or not.

There's a mandatory expansion about to be released that wasn't paid for and has new content.

You do know that this whole topic is about certain lepers not wanting others to have the same as them? I don't think those lepers would be happy at others getting their goodies for free as well ;)

They can't be any more communicative.

Some people get upset whenever they announce anything, even announcements. Some people have meltdowns whenever something changes even though its inevitable. Some people get very upset if they are not constantly reassured that what was said last time is still relevant.

We all know what the schedule is, its exactly the same as last time. That won't stop this thread being a weekly fixture though.

In the grim darkness of the forth millennium there is only WAH.

If it bothers you that much why even read or get involved with the treads? Leave them for people that actually have a vested interest to discuss.

You can’t keep harping on about people being salty when all you seem to do in here is be salty to other people and keep trying to provoke them.

All I’d like to know is when the promised store stuff will materialise they promised when the cancelled the premium content from 2018. I don’t see how that is unreasonable or salty.

It's store credit isn't it, why would Frontier dish out free store credit (on the grounds people are waiting for content) when a year's worth of "free" (at no additional cost) content is about to be released.

No involvement is often the right call. Some people didn't think through what they were buying and have decided that FDev is to blame no matter what. Even if FDev gets involved today the saltworks won't stop, so next week there will be an identical thread and it will be groundhog day yet again.

I don't see it this way at all. No involvement is never the answer when you have customers unhappy about a purchase, no matter the merits, particularly where you as the supplier have by your actions or inaction, contributed to their unhappiness.

Succinctly, would this thread have been created and still be chugging if FDev gave us an update on what's planned?

For a material example, look at how GOG dealt with NMS and the lack of multiplayer on its platform. They earned a lot of credit by hitting the issue quickly and head on.

They have.

They have stated repeatedly that they will not be giving out any information about future releases/development until after Beyond has been released. It really isn't difficult to understand that 'no news for a while' does actually mean 'no news for a while'. Why do people ignore that communication?

Theres no such thing as a mandatory expansion.

Amused by not bothered by.

First, just like everyone else I'd like to know more about the future of the game and what that means for the LEP.

But it gets kind of silly when I hear about customers being unhappy about their purchase, after 4 years of playing what seems to be their favourite game of all times, otherwise they wouldn't stick around for such a long time. It seems like FDEV delivered an awesome game.

It's also silly to complain about a lack of information when we bought something with a lack of information. If people don't like to pay for something they don't know much about they shouldn't buy something they don't know much about.

I think it's also silly to compare the current price of the base game and Horizons to the cost of the LEP, first because we don't know how many expansions are yet to come and second because everyone who doesn't know that software and games in particular get cheaper over time.

That LEP owners lost on the deal is entirely in Frontier's hands though, it's not like it's some accident of fate or something.

There's a million and one ways they could attempt to make good on the deal, but the whole thing has just been forgotten about, and that's what's most galling.

You have to fight for literally any update or progress on the matter.

LEP owners didn't lost on the deal yet, since the lifetime of game isn't over yet.

That's not what I referred to though. Frontier could sell another 6 expansions in the coming 6 years (I know, unlikely but just an example) making the LEP a good deal. However, someone who waits another few years and buys everything in a bundled edition later will always pay less than someone who bought the LEP. Everyone who doesn't know that shouldn't be trusted with a credit card.

PS
Also they didn't forget about the LEP, we got several comments on it over the last months and years. You just happen to ignore them.
