OMG the engineers

Well, this post applies to Felicity Farseer. This is my first run at RNGineering with the new system. In 2.2 I spent A LONG TIME rolling the RNGsus dice and burned up A LOT of mats/data (not to mention the gathering time) to achieve a jump range of ~44ly for my AspX. In minutes and a half a dozen or so mats/data I have 55ly range.

I'm haulin back to my home system to see what kind of jumpaconda I can make now [yesnod] Paired with the big ole Guardian FSD booster....

It's all wonder and awesomeness isn't it. :)

Until the Datamined Wake Exceptions run out. :(

I had scanned 18 of them and thought, "Oh hellz, why not go see how fast I burn through these." I feel like I have hundreds lol Plus the material trader guy? *stares at shaking hands and cries tears of joy*

Yeh, yeh, when (2.4, was it?) engineers dropped I had like 80. It's taken me this long to use them all, but I still remember what I had to do to get them. Wait til you see what the trader wants for them. BWAHAHAHAHA! ;) Those tears of joy will soon turn to tears of anguish, terrible pain and suffering, you mark my words. ;)

Thank you old man for paving the way for us whippersnappers. I entered the galaxy just a few months before the new system was implemented so I know enough to be horrified of what you old duffers had to endure. Btw, my heavy jumpaconda gets 72ly jump range with all the new doodads.

Since coming back, I'm actually finding the Datamined wake exceptions dropping more frequently than they were this time last year. Signal sources that aren't Convoys or Weapon's Fire Detected (Threat 5) on the other hand...

Oh yeah, it was 2.4 wasn't it. Sorry, the shock is still running thick. I must really have been grinding back then because the 6:1 trade in is okay... with 50+ on the Bernoulli drive :D TBH the arsenic is the hardest part (insert whining sound here).

I sense I will soon forget about days and days of hunting those wake exceptions and start complaining to myself about that afternoon spent fart sniffing high wakes.

Thank you Fdev for making RNGsus recognize how pious, gracious, and accepting I am that he/she/it is my lord and savior.

Materials Pirates! I thought: Goody! now I can trade some of this low grade crap for good stuff. Reality check. No I can't, not really. :(

Psst... Go find the Jameson crash site and you'll never have to worry about datamined wake exceptions again.

I've been there before which means I'll be able to spot it from orbit. Thanks for the tip :)

Dutchman141, I don't carry a wake scanner on any of the ships I actually use, I'm well aware how to get them but I find it preferable to long range engineer a wake scanner and simply hang around in a Distribution Center for an hour and call it a day (get about 30 an hour, it's ok but slow going, the pain and suffering which I referred to previously), than lose a utility slot. But thanks anyway, your info is good advice for people who hadn't thought of it or are less fussy what they put in their utilities :)

Silence fool!
Nerf inbound.

Now if only we could get raw like that.:D

Actually...the crashed anacondas are good for a couple of them at least, zirconuim and antimony...

Yup, lot easier now, got my DBX ready for the new exploring coming with the new update. Managed to get all the upgrades done in an afternoon, no way that would happen with the old system.:O

Does this make it easier to find HGE/CDCs?

No, the FSS does. What will be interesting is now that a system can have three states, what will the HGEs contain? :) It used to be predictable at least. Now we'll be able to find the HGEs by pressing a button or scanning a nav beacon, but we might get shafted by RNG in terms of what they have in them.

Yes engineering is easier and equal isn't that different now. Now sins its so excited next step is nurf of mats and money.

Elite still has issues, but I doubt that's on the cards, FD have shown they slowly buff mats and money gathering over time. We get more of both for more varying activities currently (barring exploits of the past) than ever before.

FWIW I snapped out an Anaconda with 70+ly range, with the Guardian goody, and a bunch of heavyweight olde timey "engineered" optionals on board.

I'm having a smoke. Maybe a big sandwich. Then a refractory period nap. Was it good for you? It was good for me...
