OMG the engineers

Yes engineering is easier and equal isn't that different now. Now sins its so ez for this Kidz next step is nurf of mats and money.

Money nerf isn't really possible. Anyone remember this?

Even a moderate nerf to current income is still a massive buff to income compared to how it used to be. Man those were rough days!

The change in the way of finding HGE is the best part of the upcoming patch for me! Hunting these could sometimes be the most frustrating thing in game (although usually i enjoyed it). My endgame dream of fully engineering all available ships seems actually doable now!!

Does this make it easier to find HGE/CDCs?

Yep. Now that the USS's will be all in the system when you get there and not randomly spawn, you will be able to jump into a system, use the new tools and know right away to stay or go.

They should be on a timer too, so if HGE's or CDC's are not there then, it might be whenever the previous USS's "Expire". It's such a welcome change, I can't express my excitement!

Under the new system, there is a timer for the USSs - I think the max time is 40 minutes. Means that once you have identified all the USSs via the FSS, you can then easily work out which ones to head for based on their type and time remaining. Also they are persistent for the time they are active, so if you are heading to one and a new one pops up in front of you, it is easy to make a decision to drop into the new closer one as the original one will still be there if there is sufficient time. Way better than the old system of aimlessly flying around in every expanding circles hoping the RND God smiles on you.

I just unlocked the fsd booster recently and I was very impressed when I realized I could get my ASPX and Annie over 70lyrs. Heck I even got my Clipper over 50lyrs now.

Threads like this reminded me how long since I played or for that matter been in the bubble. I hated the engineers with a passion, but got a few good fsd rolls so after that didn't touch them. If they have become dare I say easier or more user friendly then I might well revist then on my return.

It's all wonder and awesomeness isn't it. :)

Until the Datamined Wake Exceptions run out. :(

They actually did run out and I replenished them. Mostly via data trader. No big deal at all. Also, if you want the best of the best you need to pay for that. You can settle for G4 anytime. You just don't want to. And neither do I when it comes to jump range, but Those wake exceptions are exactly the right price for top notch stuff.

Well, this post applies to Felicity Farseer. This is my first run at RNGineering with the new system. In 2.2 I spent A LONG TIME rolling the RNGsus dice and burned up A LOT of mats/data (not to mention the gathering time) to achieve a jump range of ~44ly for my AspX. In minutes and a half a dozen or so mats/data I have 55ly range.

I'm haulin back to my home system to see what kind of jumpaconda I can make now [yesnod] Paired with the big ole Guardian FSD booster....

You kids got it good these days [up]

All they need to do now is make it so you can convert grandfathered modules to the new system using Remote Engineering.

not the DSS or the PWS/KWS/HWS, you need a FSS to find a USS to get a HGE & CDC, Ensure you activate your CHM to get your HGE & CDC from the USS found by the FSS using your FSD

FTW IIB INA DBX with a FSS 4 USS & HGE or CDC, but keep away from the CDC or you may catch ZBD

But those mission descriptions look good :) Now I have to take a closer look at the current ones as I thought they were much blander...
