Not to sound ungrateful, but no love for LEP?

It's a forum, people ask the same 30-40 questions regularly & some topics are more contentious than others. I try to placate & find common ground, you generally do your thing, and sometimes we agree.

Maybe next time you could just post a link to a faq, or make a wall of text like Jockey's one for modes if you find this all too distracting. Or you could just ignore them & leave it to someone a little more patient ;)

You do get a random poster starting the thread sometimes, but the rest of it is the same old faces making exactly the same groans about exactly the same issues and being given exactly the same replies as last time.

I'd like to agree with you there, but we might have thought that Ed's statement would bring a conclusion to this thread, and yet it just seems to continue with a life of its own

Surely you know how it works by now.

Someone posts something mildly contentious.

Other people drop because it's important to say that people like OP are bad people.

This brings people who agree with the OP, who would probably not have posted otherwise, into the thread.

The thread is then just about two sides arguing on the forum more than anything else.

ie Pages of "what does free mean", and people posting to say how people shouldn't be posting sort of thing.

I don't know. Really, all they said in this topic is basically ", yeah, that thing we said a few months ago is still true." If that is what they should have said earlier, well, they exactly did say that earlier. Things would be much easier if people would stop getting panic attacks when FD doesnt re-affirm the latest thing again and again. As a rule of thumb, whatever was last said is still true. There, anxiety cured. :p

I don't know how you can say that with a straight face.

The context here is very very obviously :
  • Frontier make assurances
  • People wait patiently
  • Shortly before the "due date" people ask how it's going
  • Frontier is suspiciously silent, and when pressed (to no-one's surprise) it turns out they hadn't done the work / forgotten about it / priorities changed / you don't understand software development (delete as appropriate).
This has happened in various forms from Kickstarter all the way through to Sept 2018. I posted an example earlier in this thread about non-delivery of Kickstarter promises (the 3d models) 1.5 YEARS after the due date, and again it was only people asking for updates that got any movement on it.

On seeing this thread at Frontier offices, I'm pretty sure the reaction will have been :

"Oh yeah I totally forgot we promised a bunch of stuff for end of 2018 didn't we, has anyone done anything about that?..... No?"

Just to point out, when we checked last time, you are often the top poster in these sorts of threads (when the "who posted most" view was available)

Stigbob has 35 posts in this thread, the third most, after babelfisch (51) and you (40). I have 23 including this one.

...

The Lifetime Expansion Pass holders are still set to receive something this year. Currently we don't have any more to say on that topic right now, but keep an eye on the usual channels as we'll have more for you very soon.
..

As someone who doesn't have the pass, can I give you money for whatever it is that's coming?

Including you Stigbob.

Yes, of course that changes nothing my replies and explanations are the same as in the last thread.

I'm wondering why some people feel the need to repeat exactly the same questions on a regular basis when they know through their own experience they'll receive the same replies.

Aye. It's just going to be a bit of store credit, in fact you can get that way before LEP owners do if you're willing to pay (pay to win). :) (42)

Well if I want to know the answer to something I'll usually google it, and find that someone has asked that question before & it's usually been answered.

My method wouldn't work without contributors like you (and the OP) that ask the questions :)

What is it you think you are pointing out ?

To state the obvious, you were complaining these threads are just the same old faces posting.

But you are one of the worst offenders for always posting in these threads.

If there's a point (it was more an observation), I suppose it's that you are complaining about other people exhibiting your own behaviour. (43)

Repeating "are we there yet" isn't a method and it doesn't work, you haven't learned anything new.

I wasn't complaining I find these threads funny. I was asking why you seem to expect a different reply this time, or if you don't expect a different reply what you think the point is.

Define "issue" and why you put it in quotes.

I don't think it is an issue which is why I put it in quotes.
