I don't disagree with anything you wrote, but I disagree with the outcome. Fleet carriers were never going to change the game. A station to call home, that was mobile, and could probably be upgraded by feeding resources (increasing what outfitting is available, for example), would definitely have provided a fun distraction for about an hour and a minorly useful tool for the future (for moving squadron resources around the bubble), but game changing? Such that it would make or break for the game for you? In the face of SUCH a vast raft of improvements over the last 12 months? I'm surprised is all.![]()
For me i think it would. My main focus of play is around player group activites. I'm not interested in building a fleet of ships, mining or exploration. So the carrier would have really moved the game forward. It means my FDL would transport with the group and act as a short range fighter- my role in the group. If I had known 6 months ago it was going to be cancelled I'd have quit then as it would have been clear the game has no legs left for me. Again, the biggest frustration is that FDev monitor these forums. They know people like me (and I'm not alone) were looking forward to this and planning around it. It feels like they thought "should we tell them? Nah, as long as they think it's coming they'll keep buying paintjobs like good little suckers".
