The Commanders Awards for 2018: Your Ship of the Year

I'd have to vote for the Krait MkII. Although as an explorer I will personally use the Krait Phantom a lot more, the Phantom is not near as versatile as the MkII. I feel the MkII is one of the most versatile, best designed ships in the entire game. Because of that it gets my vote for ship of the year.

Since picking up the game in June, I’ve put in about 500 hours. In that time I’ve gone Sidewinder> Viper mkIV> DBS> DBE> Challenger> Krait.

Once I had the Krait, I started to fill out my fleet. I got an anaconda, a python for mining, a Chieftan for a little while, an Adder and viper III for kicks. I also got a Federal corvette.

I love the corvette and the conda, because flying a big ship is cool as hell, and tons of fun. My baby is the Krait though. I have fitted it for combat, cargo, and exploring over the time that I’ve had it. It is still my favorite ship to tinker weapons/ modules and have a blast doing random stuff.

TLDR- Krait is the most fun of the 12 ships I have flown in the past 6 months

Have to agree with the MKII. I replaced two of my Pythons with them. The Equusala and the Turner's Quest. The Spear of Alioth will remain a Python however.

Although I do enjoy flying the Krait more (mainly because it's fun!) the Python is a more practical ship that's good at just about everything, it's the common sense choice but who wants to be sensible all the time? (if at all!)

I keep a Python for the same reasons, but I never want to fly it. That makes it the least practical ship I own. It's still in my shipyard simply because a python should never be sold. That's rule #2 after, 'Never fly without a rebuy'. The K-MkII just stole all of the engineered mods from my python, and the python's purpose as well.

Not to mention the excellent Raider Ship Kit I have for the K-MkII.

as i have 3 totally different accounts each with a different role within the Game i offer you my top 4 for each Commander

I never thought of doing it this way, so

13A (the original account) - Freelancer on the lam

1. Adder
2. DBS
3. FGS

24B - Explorer

1. Adder
2. Krait Mk II
3. Dolphin

13D - New acc't - no role yet, still a noob

1. Adder
2. Can't afford anything else! :)

While two ships are still not out, neither of them will beat the Krait MK II versatility. Though they will make fine specialist additions to my fleet.

Krait MkII was the best addition to the game this year, it is a great ship no doubt of it. And aside from the grind behind these little things, the new Guardian SLF's are awesome as well when it comes to modelling, sound and fun factor.

Honorable mention (I always have to) to the now invisible/not yet in game Panther Clipper which is/will be the best thing ever in this game (hopefully), if Frontier one day decides to put the things we ask in this game for once. :p

Rank 1 : For me, it's the Krait Mk.II.
Didn't expect much (anything) from this specific Ship when I first bought it - but it exceeded all expectations with ease.

Rank 2 : Alliance Chieftain
Has only few weak spots and given the right Equipment and build considerations a formidable combat platform in the right hands.

Rank 3 : Type-10
After a troubled start, it has become my primary Heavy Duty Mining Vessel and gets that job done just right.

I'm with Un1K0rn here Cobra MK III
Engineered this classic is better, does it all. Don't worry about making Creds per hour. Just have fun with it.

Assuming we are suppose to be voting on Ship introduced in 2018, as opposed to say, the Long range naval scout, the Sidewinder Mk.I

My vote:

The XG 9 Lance

Flying one as Multi Crew Thargoid Hunting during the Gnosis Hyperdiction
