How you don't see this as a legit issue is beyond - far too many complaints about this from too many posters to be just an outlier. There are clearly a group who sees the new graphics as great, an improvement - and another that has it as a significant downgrade.
Well, that's the thing.
I seriously doubt that
anybody could be looking at what I'm looking at and saying "Really, I think it's great!".
The people who are happy with the changes are, presumably, seeing something differently to how I'm seeing it.
For example, I was just at one of the fancy stations in Sol.
Everything outside my ship was washed-out and over-exposed so I dial back the gamma until that isn't a
huge annoyance.
I don't want to dial it back
too far because I know that'll make darker areas look garbage.
I then head for LHS20 and stop at the Wala CNB (where there's a fairly intense M-class dwarf star) for some pew-pew.
The same setting that made the interior of the Sol station look okay(ish) is now
much too dark and renders all the HUD displays a red/orange colour and made it almost impossible to distinguish hostile ships from all the other contacts.
I'm sure some of the specific effects look amazing but nobody could possibly have the issues I'm having and think they were a reasonable sacrifice in return for the improved effects.
