As a boardflipper

As a heavy boardflipper, im not really happy with the change ofcourse. But i understand why it has changed.. but in my eyes its a one sided fix.

For me personally why i board flip is when im going to do missions ive set a goal in mind, so when im focused on trading i dont accept combat missions.

The main reason why i flipped boards was so i could get enough missions for that task that im aiming for. This is not fixed.. the amount of missions offered is too low for me to do what i want.

Can we please get more missions?! Having 5 to 15 missions per faction is way too low.

Pretty sure the answer is no.

We’re supposed to have a mix of missions. As much as you like to play space trucker (and I like to play space trucker too), the galaxy doesn’t revolve around us, nor do the factions in it, even if we named them. So mix of missions is what there is, and if this means your translation tab is a bit light, so be it.

I’ve never been a flipper, so this doesn’t phase me. If I want to fill in space on my transaction tab I go to another station, often in the same system. Odds are I’ll find the same factions there too.

Yep, by removing board flipping they've removed the solution without addressing the original problem, which is an overly diluted mission board. I agree that board flipping had to go, but it should have been accompanied by a new solution for the issue and it wasn't. This has only made things worse overall for mission runners.

For example, I like running surface salvage missions. It's usually hard to find decent ones, but board flipping was an effective tool to increase my chances of getting one. Now it's very hard to find surface salvage jobs amongst the sea of data courier, sourcing, assassination, trading, mining, and oh yeah wing versions of all of those too.

Something needs to be done about mission oversaturation, because it's not good at all right now, and removing board flipping has only made it worse.

I agree. It's very reasonable for us to expect we can pull into a station and fill our quota of our missions of choice and pull back out without waiting 10-15 minutes or longer for missions. Waiting for our desired mode of play to populate is not an effective game feature.

You word it allot better than me, but this is how i feel aswell.

I went to a system to assist my Minor Faction, i wanted to do Mining, so i went to a station with extraction economy... guess what missions i did not get on that station? Its a crap without bord hopping!

I'm pretty sure the restriction of missions is (in part) a way to help limit potential income. For the things cited like trading or scavenging, you always have the option of creating your own missions - top off your remaining cargo hold with commodities to sell, or go scavenging on your own.

Yes, it pays less. But again, I believe that's part of the point.

Having said that, I do think the mission board could use some updates. You should be able to select a destination system and be shown missions for that destination. You should be able to select a mission type and have a high chance of getting missions for it (I don't think 100% though).

I don't think any player has a "right" to max out either their cargo hold or their mission list with missions of their choosing though.

You'll thank FD soon enough because logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, logging in then out, is kinda bad for the brain. All repetition is. #hospitalism #deprivation

Having 70-150 mission on mission board on every station is too low? LOL

They've a lot of work to do on the mission system. I still remember my first assassination mission in Frontier. I had to wait outside a city till my target took off and follow them into deep space away from police vipers, before i could take them out. Very atmospheric, (and with atmospheric flight too!). That was in 1994 on my Amiga. In almost every area, ED is WAY WAY better than that, but not the missions from my memory*.

*Which may be rose tinted.

How about learn about how the BGS works, and maybe try to work it a bit every now and then to make sure the system states produce the desired mission types?

maybe having some sort of tabs inside the faction mission, "combat/salvage/sourcing/boom delivery/etc.." could be a solution rather than mixing all missions all together ?
It could even be merged with explo and passengers missions

Glad to hear I'm not the only one doing this. I'm not sure I'd like every station having the same homogeneous mission list regardless of circumstances.

It'd also be nice if FDev would populate CNBs with enough pirates to get people to combat Elite and populate systems with enough ELWs to get people to exploration Elite efficiently too.

Clearly, if this doesn't happen the game must be faulty.

It's sad, but a very vocal portion of the user base would throw an absolute fit if they had to wait for a target and then follow them somewhere before killing them. :(
