The day you stop playing Elite Dangerous

I'll stop playing when the servers get switched off, and I can't see that happening as long as the game is profitable for FD.

Saying that, when the servers are switched off, they'll make it offline, then we'll all mod the crap out of it, and prolong ED's life for another 10 years

I think there are only three reasons I would stop playing;-

1. Sunset with no Offline mode to replace it - This applies to everyone, if the servers go and there is no offline / single player solution, we all stop playing. I probably wouldn't even mind a monthly fee to keep the servers running.
2. Paid for Lock Boxes - Personally I find this kind of gambling reprehensible. Reminds me of the booster packs for Magic the Gathering or even Pokeman.
3. Pay To Win - Dispite what people say about Horizons giving too much of an advantage over non-horizon players, I feel that all the extra content you get with Horizons should be enough incentive to upgrade the game and thus putting you on a level playing field. However, if there was an item which you could only purchase with real world money (Bit like ships in another game), which gave you an advantage over someone who's been playing the game for years.

It must be said that in ALL three of the above cases; David Braben and the community team have said on many occasions that they will not implement any of the above features.

I know i'm very harsh when it comes to big developers being greedy and i plan to continue that way. I won't give them an inch. If you do you give them the temptation to do such things. I know it propably won't happen with FD sice they actually listen to the players.

The company yes, but because they make movies which are inherently topical, it makes a lot less sense to have their advertising in Elite. Having ads for the latest princess/superhero/whatever movie would definitely break my immersion.

Disney makes many many MANY MANY more things than movies... (Micky Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are forever) but on top of that they like to reboot not just beloved movies, but TV shows and books alike, and even worse, they're merchandising like CRAZY... and on top of that, they buy EVERYTHING... I wouldn't be surprised by 3305 if Disney owned a portion of Coca Cola and Warner Bros (Bugs Bunny). If Disney stopped making movies today, they'll still live on for 6 centuries easy.

Movies' reputation didn't make Disney, Disney's reputation made the Movies.
