This thing needs to get fixed desperately

This is just horrendous. First time I am visiting galactic core, but this really gets into the eye.

And last picture, which is how it should actually look, imo:

A nice star distribution overall with good density and it looks quite well too.
Btw, whole album if anyone wants it: https://imgur.com/a/IJmrhNY

LOL! There are waaaaay more pressing issues that need to be fixed more urgently than this.

But yes, its an annoying visual glitch based on how Elite's engine randomly generates stars. Basically, what you're seeing is the border between different regions. It's simply too sharp now and needs to be more gradual. It will in principle get fixed eventually.

Is it elite:minecraft (stars organized in cubes) or too much stars to render and video card decided to rest instead?

Maxwell's demon is playing with the Stellar Forge.

I think near the core the game has to calculate much more star positions for the skybox than in the bubble for example, there probably is a memory or time limit that prevents it from always calculating everything.

This was a big downer on my trip to the core....sharp lines where the stars just stopped. I even got some very neat corners to look at :(

It's been an issue for a long, long time which could mean a couple of things, FDev don't think it's important enough to spend resources on it...or FDev don't know how to fix it either way I think we are stuck with it.

I know "immersion" and all that...blah blah...but this was really jarring. I went to the core to view the splendour of the sights, to be surrounded by the light of a billion suns...but actually "computer says no" and it looks rubbish, it really does.

exploration in elite = travel from A to B look at nice scenery and repeat.

You have broken scenery. After hundreds of pointless jump animations you get this. I feel the pain. If i were you i would probably self destruct and never play this game again.

I don't even see a problem?

OK, how about now? :D

As mentioned above it's caused by the fact that increased star density in the core doesn't seem to sit particularly well with the way the game breaks the rendering up, resulting in blocks of dense stars rather than a more gradual increase. I mean the step up in density is actually pretty drastic when you hit the core, it certainly shouldn't look like it was drawn with a ruler though. Both of those screenshots are taken near the Great Annihilator by the way.

I'd say Frontier have already fixed it desperately!

Cue the awe-inspiring, iconic line: "It's full of stars...well, that relatively small arbitrary rectangular patch of sky is, anyway!"

With regards to the last picture, you really aren’t a space nerd, are you? The stellar density within The Bulge astronomical (pun only slightly intended, deal with it). It should actually look like the left side of the first picture, but everywhere.

The only area with low stellar density would be the few light years around Sag A*, where the big fella’s gravity has created a sort of no-man’s-land.

You mean?.... “.... where the big fella’s gravity has created a sort of No Mans SKY.” ;)
The new coloring and lighting does remind me a bit of NMS. (And that’s not really complimentary)
