Spinning ships...infinitely spinning and not connecting. Im not here to tell anyone how games are made, Im here to play them...yer asking me about something I dont know anything about and Im not paid fer...all I know right now is I cant get into the game. If I knew what was wrong then chances are we wouldnt be having this conversation.
Cant even report it because its technically not a bug...one has to actually be in the game to see bugs and thats where the current problem can be sourced to...actually getting into the game.
Save yerself the trouble of arguing m8, its me own stupidity that made me so much as try cos I foolishly believed ye when ye claimed the problems werent that bad...more fool me lets not have this conversation again cos the next time really will be the last time. Ive had it upto here with this game and Ive wasted half the year waiting on it...Im off to play other games made by real devs who actually seem to care enough to keep their community informed...very unlike this game it seems.

I had a little shot and did find the mechanics improved. The stability issues clearly need sorted but it was never going to be quick releasing so close to xmas. My issue is that i just got really bored after half an hour again. For all the improvements in mechanics i still can't find any purpose in the game. It still feels like a bunch of disjointed mini-games lumped together. I do think there's a bit more with the scenarios etc but i still have no reason to come back to the game, personally.
I'm being genuine when i say i really do hope something does bring me back because i really want to like this game.
DOOM was so excellent. Really excited for DOOM Eternal.
Thankfully the OP and the naysaying whingers, sore losers where 3.3 didn't fail and doom the game as they wanted, just represent "2.8%" who have utterly failed to sway or discourage those otherwise busy playing and enjoying the game which has always been good.
No it's definitely Doom3 that Elite Dangerous resembles most. It's nothing like Doom4 (well apart from there being 4 Elite games). The "Doom4" of Elite will happen after Frontier is absorbed/dissolved by another company, David Braben is gone, and a whole new group of people build a brand new game from the ground up which is loosely based on the broad themes and iconography of the original Elite. And, uh, to overextend the metaphor a little more: all the ships will have a very detailed damage model.
Still a marmite game! I'm biased as I have over 1,000 hours played and I love it.
I'd say a solo or single player experience it's brilliant "IF" you like space ships and space sims but with a very self driven story. I guess having played before OP you are aware you can trade, explore, mine and do combat related activities.
Th is story and narrative out there now if you use the new codex and go and find things yourself but it's still very self driven. As a multiplayer experience PvP is good but PvE multiplayer still needs more, however the new BGS stuff, squadrons and scenarios are starting to open up and expand this very well. I still think the coop and multiplayer experience in Elitre Dangerous is 6 months to a year away from being as polished as the solo side of the game.
UI and quality of life fixes over the last few patches have been excellent.

Wait, how exactly did you waste half the year waiting on 3.3? That doesn't make any sense. Did you sit in front of your computer without doing anything but waiting for the update? That's probably the most idiotic thing I ever heard of.

It's cooler to let people express their views than feeling compelled to argue with every person who complains about the game. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as they are entitled to express it. Shutting down dissenting opinions isn't conducive to a constructive and open forum.
Freedom of speech works in both directions, just as you can endlessly moan on about the video game I can say why hang around if you are unhappy and other people having fun triggers you.
