Game freezing spontaneously from anywhere upto 20 seconds at a time?

I don't understand why FD would release as huge update that close to. Christmas. How many staff have booked time off ? Kinda makes it tricky to do bug fixes with a skeleton crew

Something strange with this Bug, it wasn't present in Beta, and I never saw any problems around the time of release (was on for a few days) As mentioned by many others, the freeze seems to be related to the comms server, and getting worse.

Yeah. I thought about the same thing the other day. Just before Christmas and big holiday take-off, not the best time to drop a huge release. But I can also understand the sales point of it. It's the time when people will spend money (new customers) and more people will have some time off to play. Probably better to release such a big update in October and have November to fix it, ready for Christmas. Oh, well. Still, I really enjoy the game and the new content.

Yep. Seems to me like a latency mismatch with the server code for the new chat channels. Something loses sync and the game pauses to re-sync the clients with the server. It's also probably why the squadron channels are so unsteady.

Really? In what other industry is this ok? I'm trying to imagine this response to Patient registration systems downtime at my job. Airport/hotel reservation systems. Even PoS kiosks at a local grocer.

With due respect, this is an insulting, condescending response. Your players deserve better than this.


Uhh... it's a game... and the bug is a minor inconvenience even in THIS game let alone RL. Try and keep it in perspective... with all due respect.

I'm sure QA is very aware. This is happening regularly to everyone across all platforms since 3.3, so it would be inconceivable to NOT be aware of it.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

They were aware of the console SRV instancing bug for 8+ months (minimum 1/3/18 to 11/12/18, i'm sure reported earlier), before it got fixed.
Hopefully this is faster.

Did you know that mortality rates in hospitals rise during christmas and new year because they don't have enough trained personnel?

Beta had far fewer players, and the first few days of live there were so many other things collapsing this one probably was less noticeable. If it's load-related, it probably wasn't going to show up in Beta.
 
These disconnects have been an annoyance to me but I've been just enduring them as I know FD will get right on it after the Christmas/New Year break.

BUT: I just wanted to mention that I finally found, way out there in the middle of nowhere, a pristine icy ring world and FINALLY found a bunch of void opals. Had 10 of them in the hold.

Then the disconnect happened.

You know what happens when you reconnect, right? Yeah, pirates. NPC pirates. 3 of them. "Hi, whatcha got? Oh, those! Nice. Give me ..... no, better yet, just die in a hail of blazing death. We'll take what pops out of the debris. Nice doing business with you." Tried going silent, probably not a good idea as it took the shields down.

Going to try going farther out but I don't think it matters. Thanks, FD. :mad:

BTW, no, not going to submit a ticket due to the disconnect thing. Just going to chalk it up to experience and press on.

Have passed on this issue to our team. It'll be investigated and fixed sometime after the new year.

sorry its just frusttrating a company got no smoth running netcode even multiplayer not realy working after 5 years

Actually not true.

Mortality rates are higher by percentage as only medical emergencies get treated over the holidays. Run of the mill, safe procedures aren't carried out. So the mortality rate looks higher, but it's not.

This was another gem from Jeremy 'Hunt' eagerly consumed by the media, designed to undermine trust in the NHS.

I really can't get excited about my space game suffering the occasional and non-terminal freeze once an hour or so, and it'll get fixed soon enough. So let's apply a little perspective please.
 
i don't know if this is relevant to anyone else but I noticed tonight that my game freezes are only happening when i have EDMarketConector running.
I did some testing and it only happens when it is running if anyone else would like to test this out I would be interested in there results.
