Let me clarify this for you: ED isn't your house.
Imagine you bought a car. At the time it was said to be simple, yet it was relaible and it got you where you wanted to go quickly. Then several years later the manufacturer announces that from now on all new models were coming with "upgrades" Many people pointed out the faults with these upgrades but you didnt care cause you were happy with what you had and besides your simple boring little car had become a classic by now.
And then you found out that not only were all new cars going to get upgrades, but so was yours and you wernt allowed to say no. Suddenly it wasnt the car you had paid for anymore, you tryed to carry on as normal but even sitting in the thing made you feel sad and cheated. Two weeks later you ride the bus everywhere now and bitterly curse the name of that car manufacturer.

I think you're getting more hysterical as this thread drags on.
I had some sympathy for those who disliked the FSS, but the more comments I read from this thread, the harder it is to see anything other than bitter, entitled whining.
You were not "sinned against", as I saw you post in another thread, or otherwise violated, by any stretch of the imagination by FDev's implementation of the FSS. You need to either accept that this is how the game is now, or move on to another game. Perpetual outrage will change nothing.
Just remember, frontier never actually took this away from the majority, certianly the most vocal. Bubble only combat players are completely immune to the damaging strain of fss usage due to an artificial, out of mechnic gifted exemption to using it.
Frontier actually don’t trust their own mechanic enough it seems... or at last have strongly acknowledged themselves there is some value in not requiring people to use the ..........
This. The latest update to Stellaris was a complete overhaul of planetary management, and it managed to break my savegame. I haven't had the will to start from scratch again, I may do so later. Or not. But I certainly didnt spend hours typing endlessly on their forums how Stellaris is my game and the devs should roll it back for me and how I am betrayed and gutted, how Paradox doesnt care about old customers, how they are evil and stupid and refuse to listen etc etc. I either play the game or I dont, and if they make too many decisions I dont like I stop giving them money.

Long-term vehicle leases are a funny thing. Especially when you know up front that every 3-6 months your vehicle will be replaced. Sometimes you get something better than expected, sometimes you don't. But... you knew when you handed over your money that there would be regular changeovers.
PS If some people get the original ADS back, can I get the original Python back too?

I’m getting a little desperate actually because exploration is the last real challenge I have left and I’m getting metaphorically desperate. I’m already playing other games more than elite and this hasn’t happened since I started.
You’re simply not in your ship anymore. To me, exploration was going there..... yeah well can’t make everyone happy.

Yes one plausible explanation is that they felt the FSS uptake would not be as good unless players had to use it. Having used it I don't think that's the case, the benefits of the FSS being able to DSS at a distance mean players would have naturally chosen their own combination from the choice of playstyles. The min/maxer forgoes the ADS for jump range, those that revel in the reveal use the FSS for everything & search for life & geo POIs by eye, the old curmudgeon stuck in their ways can carry on playing the game they understand & have enough buttons for.

Looks pretty well done to me. Same way I do it: gas giants first, then pick the moons of it and move to the next, than end with the left-overs. Only thing I really noticed is that your zoom looks way smoother and cooler than mine.

Side note as I’m a scotch lover too. Buddy of mine is from the south and he brough over some bourbon that is not the usual stuff you see on the shelf and surprisingly it was really good. If that stuff were on the shelves I’d have it from time to time. Back onto the topic, I’m also enjoying the new system but can’t help feel that maybe they should have kept the discovery scanner module around for those who like it. It would provide the visual map they crave back and if they want the added functionality they’re welcome to let it take a module spot. I don’t see how this would be an issue even if I do like the new system generally (though zi think it’s a bit clunky in VR. I’d rather a window open within my sphere of view than a weird transportation but then zi feel the same about the galaxy map.
Edit: I don’t know why my iPad insists on typing zi when I mean I. Sometimes it also types ai or when I want to write I’ve it types alive. 1st world problem.
