Buggiest update ever

I just skimmed the last 10 pages and what you described didn't happen a single time. Apart from Stigbob maybe...

Dang, you stopped just 1 page short of the exchange I was specifically describing--and no it wasn't stigbob that time. Anyway, I'm not interested in re-litigating that conversation if you too are going to demand that I re-produce detailed bug reports for every single bug before you will believe me when I say that I am experiencing multiple bugs in every single play session that are negatively impacting my experience in significant ways, which is something I am not used to experiencing from other game updates or even new game releases. I'm not going to waste my time re-creating bug reports that I and others have already posted on the bug forum, so the evidence is there if you won't take my word for it. In my most recent play session just a few minutes ago, during a very short play session I experienced the bug where unmapped planets show the same bright blue texture as if it has already been mapped so you can't see which areas are mapped and unmapped as you try to map it and hit the efficiency target and then after that the game crashed as I was dropping out of supercruise at a station and put me over 1000 Ls away when I logged back in, and then of course I had a few 20 second freezes sprinkled throughout. And it's not just me. These things (and more) have been confirmed and are being experienced regularly by many people.

It's quite strange that you want to educate me, a person who is well aware of the existance of bugs and issues, about the existance of bugs and issues.

PS

And I did read your conversation with Sterling and it wasn't as dramatic as you make it sound (this forum is full of white knights who claim that bugs do not exist). Actually he just asked you if you are experiencing the same bug again and again or if you are experiencing a variety of different bugs and you called him a troll for that. He never claimed that bugs don't exist. The only problem I can see here is your aggressive reaction towards other members of the community.

I never said the white knights claim bugs don't exist.

No, I did not call him a troll for that.

Despite the fact that he very blatantly took one sentence of my post out of context and misinterpreted it to contradict everything else I said in the post. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and explained his error to him. It was only after his second post that it was clear he was troll. In his second post, he made a number of false statements about my post and made bizarre arguments against things that had nothing to do with my post. After I listed three bugs and gave details for at least two of them he claimed that I had given, "No details." And he stated that he did not believe my "claim there's multiple bugs." He said, "You could be blowing smoke as far as I can tell." Clearly trying to bait me as I had already described three bugs to him in addition to telling him that I had filed "4 or 5 new bug reports myself" and "posted confirmations on multiple bug reports created by others." So this guy is just straight up calling me a liar while making false claims about what I had said. Then he starts arguing about "CZ missions" and repeatedly mentions "lack of missions," which has absolutely nothing to do with my post as I never said anything about missions, but he nevertheless concludes this bizarre argument by saying that there is no problem with the game the problem is with me. After that, it seemed pretty clear that he was a troll--refusing to believe me and claiming that I had not provided details when I had in fact done so, making bizarre arguments that had nothing to do with anything I said, concluding that the problem is with me not with the game.

So you've already made two false statements about me in two consecutive sentences. Let's keep going shall we.

He never claimed that bugs don't exist.

I never said he did. You are falsely representing me by implying that I said that he said bugs don't exist when I never said any such thing. Second of all, what he did say is effectively pretty close to that. He expressed extreme skepticism and disbelief about my bug reports, "You could be blowing smoke as far as I can tell," is what he said (among other similar statements). So, you are wrong again. I never said that he said that, and what he did say was pretty close to it.

The only problem I can see here is your aggressive reaction towards other members of the community.

Both you and sterling seem to be intentionally misrepresenting everything I say for the purpose of attempting to provoke me. I don't think it is unwarranted to describe you both as trolls. I think that's merely an accurate description based on the evidence, not some kind of aggression. What an easy life you must live if you think this is "aggressive." I don't think text on an internet forum, regardless of contents, counts as "aggression." But if you do consider my words aggressive, then I suggest you and sterling take a look in the mirror, the repeated false claims and accusations you both have made against me. You are the aggressors here. I am just defending myself and my words from your misrepresentations.

(Want me to play your game of intentionally misinterpreting someone to turn their words back against them? Watch, I can play this game too if I want to. You said, "The ONLY problem I can see here..." See? You are denying that there are any problems with the game. Here you are contradicting yourself. You spend all your time vociferously beating up on the strawman that you have constructed, insisting that there are no white knights claiming that there are no problems with the game. And yet here you are concluding by saying that the only problem you see is me, thereby meaning you see no problems with the game. Thus contradicting yourself and disproving your own arguments.) o7 Seriously I'm done. I humored you with this debate on the off chance that you might have some tiny ounce of sincerity hiding in what you've been saying, but if you continue to proceed in the same manner you have been I am not going to respond to any further trolling. You can have fun beating your strawman by yourself.

Have you seen the join date of the OP? Bold statement "buggiest update ever" for someone who's either a very fresh player or never posted anything in these forums (possible but unlikely). I'm with this game from almost day one and all I can say is this update is buggy like hell. Buggy? Yes, absolutely. But buggiest ever? No way! [haha]

What really puzzles me though is that a veteran like Aashenfox is blowing in the same horn now. He either must have some memory issues, tends to glorify the past or it just was the alcohol. Happy new year, chaps! [cool]

Maybe old vets who spent time actually playing the BGS felt screwed over by the update. If they "improve" their sandbox you should think twice about stomping all the castles your players build. So I guess you're the one who has some memory issues or it's just the alcohol. Anyway, if Aashenfox was with the update, I'm sure he had valid reasons, even if you dont grasp them.

Happy new year

I've been around since Day one too and I think you'd be hard pressed to find an update as buggy as 3.3 - yes there were updates that might have had bugs you deem more significant but 3.3 wins the prize of "most systemic bugs across all playstyles".

I don't think there's a single aspect of 3.3's gameplay that doesn't have something wrong with it.

Mining, exploration, piracy, missioning, powerplay.

OK maybe trading got off - although the freezes and crashes happen while trading too.

NOTHING as far as I can tell is unaffected by SOMETHING from the 3.3 update.

Please by all means correct me if I'm overstating.

Happy new year, old german fools.

The BGS seems much better to me now, more interactive and really clear. CZ's in particular impress me. The clear requirements to progress are also good.

I'm still out near the Heart nebula, on my way to a smaller nebula nearby. I found a few organic signals on planets orbiting a distant binary & popped over for a quick scan.

Now in the region I'm in (Elysian Shore) if you go to the codex 'organic structures' section you'll see there is only one entry, for Bark Mounds & needless to say I've already ticked that box because when you find signs of life it's almost always Bark Mounds. Never saw them before 3.3, never need to see them again now they are so common.

But this time I landed & it was a large group of Anemones. Not only was it not Bark Mounds again, it was something new to the region! I would get my name in the codex as first reported by :D

But no. I can't composition scan them, it's just another bug.

Seems unplayable to me - see YMMV.
We have 8+ systems stuck in pending conflict or waiting for conflict to end. Not alone in this is you puruse the bug forum. As conflicts are the way to change a system, having the transition between conflict states broken stops the BGS having a purpose. All we can do is keep are influence away from any other faction to avoid losing another system to the bug. Needless to say, all off doing something else now. Doubt we will get everyone back.

Cheers

Wow, i just made it to the codex and to be honest i had to do better for university assignments.

There are blank entries, and the paging buttons are truncated. How is this a years worth of work? I don't get their behavior on livestreams if they're putting their name to this, they should be ashamed children (because they are adults and are getting paid, real children are fine).

Also the center hud prompt is not aligned to the ship model on the mamba.

This is like a night before rush job.

Considered offering them your developer services to correct the issue?

No. Im not in the uk and i suspect there's lots of politics there.

But its a real problem when you're thinking about spending on these super high priced cosmetics though. A real bug, lots of them even i can forgive. Sloppy careless work must be called immediately though. How can you "support" that kind of effort.

If you want to assume everything is above board, their qa cycles must be really busted there.

Maybe I just don't get super upset about video games and expect minor bugs, an issue that causes me no more bother than other peoples internet opinions.

Seems to me you and few other white knights do get upset about videogames, you live here in every thread fighting critics.
I hope you get paid by FD otherwise it's somewhat sad and funny at the same time.
I think even devs laugh at you white knights!
