What gives me the most pain, i did the engineer grind. I actually begged them to just unlock the engineers for me but they said no :( So i went and did that awful grind and i went and did my combat grind to dangerous... I was almost ready to take an epic journey to the less trodden quarters of the galaxy!!! And then....oh for FSS!

Nah mate, that's deep and engaging Gameplay. So is the god-honk revealing the exact positions of all celestial bodies in a system after holding a button for 5 whole seconds.

It removes "discovery" completely from "exploration". There's no sense of "charting the unknown void" when you get the charts by pressing a magical button for 5s.
With the FSS at least there's some basic sense of "discovery" when exploring previously uncharted territory.

Have you used the new discovery process yet? I posted a video earlier in the thread, a few others described their personal process too. What's yours da_wae?

Yes, but I haven't had time (or desire) to refine a specific process to min-max my exploration time. My interest in exploration is disconnected from a need to min-max.

My only complaint about the FSS is that it's not friendly at all for color-blind people (and possibly people who suffer from epilepsy) due to the nature of the UI.

Thanks for sharing that ;)

So do you see any way in which a different discovery tool that you didn't fit but others did would affect your process of discovery or enjoyment of the game generally?

I'm against FDEV wasting a single minute of dev time to appease 10 people.
